Long term effects of radiotherapy
Hi all I am seeking some information on behalf of my Mum - she has had breast cancer twice, the first about 40 years ago. She has over the years had several health issues which now seem to have been "diagnosed" as effects from the radiotherapy. ie ribs breaking from coughing and sneezing, needing a stent put in one of her…

i can't believe it
Hi girls, I'm so upset as it turns out the antidepressant that the "breast cancer" psychiatrist put me on interacts with the tamoxifen and reduces it's effect. Explains the return of a normal period and no hot flushes, increased energy etc. Now i have to change again - which for me is a big deal as ever since i had an…

What a fantastic day
Hi girls, Today I woke up to our photo on the front page of the newspaper - in colour - sending the 100 hellium balloons skyward. It was fantastic. They stuffed up the story bit and put Terri as the co-ordinator but who cares the news item was out there!!!My poor husband was more upset than me - he has seen how sick I've…

A Break Away
I just returned from a week away to the coast. Back in February when I was still recovering from surgery, I was lamenting to one of the breast care nurses at Calvary Hospital how sad I was that our family had to miss their annual holiday because of my surgery (no one complained or said anything about it, but I felt bad…
