What a fantastic day

Hi girls,

Today I woke up to our photo on the front page of the newspaper - in colour - sending the 100 hellium balloons skyward.  It was fantastic.  They stuffed up the story bit and put Terri as the co-ordinator but who cares the news item was out there!!!My poor husband was more upset than me - he has seen how sick I've been and how much work was involved and then someone else  gets the credit.  Sh....happens!!!!   I did my first talk today and I must say I was very proud of myself.  It went extremely well.  I even got a quivery lip at the start.  Talk about moving the audience......one poor old dear collapsed in the middle of my talk.....like a true performer I stopped too .....but as they say "The Show Must Go On"   It was a very good day.....hard to go back to work tomorrow.   That's right we are having a morning tea and the proceeds are going to.....BCNA.  All worth the while of showing up!!!!

The adrenalin will stop pumping soon I promise!!!XLeonie

    Thank you Shirl.  I've picked up the Star qualities from none other than YOU...  It is so nice to have the endorfins running around in my body and having good feelings.  We are having a morning tea at work this morning and all donations and proceeds from  raffles  will go to BCNA.  I am still amazed at how people feel about BC ......probably becdause it could happen to THEM.........XLeonie

    Leonie, you're right about people's reaction to Breast Cancer .... I think it's because with so much knowledge out and about these days and with the "crazies of the world" (that's us and proud of it !!!) shouting our message from the rooftops the word is spreading.

    Someone somewhere has a connection through family, friends or acquaintances and when something like Breast Cancer Awareness Month  comes around they all want to help.

    I've already been invited to become involved in a couple of events next year ...... can you see me on the golf course or driving a pink tractor through outback NSW ....... watch this space!!!!

    You just take care of yourself and don't go overdoing things

    I get your message loud and clear Shirl but it is hard to slow down when there are things to do.  Now that my functions are finished for Oct my husband and I are going away fishing for a long weekend (maybe him fishing and me reading).  I get the results of my chest x-rays and CT scans for my chest tomorrow.  I think it is all coming along pretty good.  Today I haven't coughed my head off so much and am starting to feel okay....  Don't have time to be SICK......We made over $100 at our work morning tea and raffle today.  I will need a police escort to get all the money to the bank.  I have sold nearly 50 sets of socks and about 20 pins.  I am looking forward to a break this weekend though as we have been shortstaffed at work as well. I will need to log into newcomers on my return as I have not been able to find the extra time in the last couple of weeks.  I love to be able to "chat" with and help others.  XLeonie
