Have a Merry Xmas and all the best for 2022 .....
Hi guys Many thanks to all of you, for 'being there' for me & everyone else on the forum during the year - it has been a tough year for many of us, for so many different reasons. We have a wonderful community of people here, who are happy to help others in their time of need. Let's keep that generosity of spirit going over…

The things that people say....
"I know just how you feel. My friend has been through that". "You're lucky. Cancer will probably make you lose weight". "Oh. Breast cancer? My mother inlaw died of that". "I wish I had the chance of seeing how my hair looks when it's short like you do". "If you need help, call me anytime. Just not on Tuesdays, Thursdays or…

Dating and meeting new people
I’ve just started dating after my divorce, I was diagnosed just after separation. So no potential suitor has seen the new me in the flesh (although every person in the hospital lol). I’m a little nervous! Any advice? At what point do you tell someone about your diagnosis?

Advice for aching wrists, joints
Hi 👋 I have been on Tamoxofin for just over a month and I’ve started experiencing really sore wrists to start and now pretty much all joints. It’s worse when I do body weight workouts, I feel like it’s all over and even lying on my side during exercise, it’s like a “bruised” feeling. I know it’s early days and an expected…

Implant mobility
Nearly 3 months ago I had a mastectomy and reconstruction with implant at the same time. Things were going well but the implant is now a bit mobile… waiting to speak to my surgeon but wondering if anyone else out there may have experienced this?? Cheers ellen

Woohoo! We have a HUG emoji
Thank you so much @Kate_BCNA for getting our ‘hug’ emoji up and running! I think that everyone will find this a terrific addition to our post responses .... when you really ‘feel’ for the person posting, but may not have anything to add in writing to the conversation! The Mods weren’t able to add it as an ‘extra emoji’, so…

Long time between drinks!
Hi All! It's been a while....Lots of changes....both mentally and physically....a long time between drinks, so to speak. I have spent this morning going through my old posts here and all I can say is WOW! It's been 5 years since diagnosis and I am still dealing with the aftermath this bitch left me with. This forum was a…

Support
I was diagnosed in 2018 and had a double mastectomy and chemo, as a side effect of the chemo I have neuropathy pain in my feet and I have tried everything and the latest doctor told me there is nothing left to try and I will always have it. How long can BCN provide support, I am really struggling and sometimes wish the…

Trials
I heard this segment on ABC Nightlife last night. It's always interesting to learn about clinical trials and achievements. A caller brought up Tamoxifen Listen to the lady from Adelaide.....what an inspiration "What is a clinical trial? - Nightlife - ABC Radio"…

Navigating the forum
I noticed a comment from @Linda258au in the Activity tab. Not being sure of how to navigate the forum This link from ages ago is probably the most helpful "Navigating the online community (formerly the what and how thread) — BCNA Online Network"…

Long term chemo side effects
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer and completed chemo 1 year ago. I have suffered from the time of treatment, ongoing fatigue of various degrees every day. Most days I am fatigued and need to lie down to rest. I also suffer from body aches and pains in my body. I have been unable to return to work even on a part…

Thanks to BCNA for last nights webinar
Really useful, insightful. Totally amazing to be in a breakout room with so many others and see bright shining faces. No way to properly address every question but a feeling of community and connection. Great speakers, terrific videos (can these be made available to share? - especially the one on 2020). Thank goodness for…

Aches and pains...
One year into Arimidex and keen to know what others do to relieve the joint aches and pains. Hot flashes have reduced to occasional events (short trips to the tropics 😉) but there's been no let up on the aches and pains. Nevertheless, loving every day!!

TV Show (WARNING - may be upsetting)
I have been bingeing a new Australian TV show on Foxtel called "The End". I put the warning on the title because it is about death, suicide, end-of-life care, assisted dying and so may be too confronting for some. There is no "stand" taken on any issue, just portrayal. The reason I'm posting is that there is a beautiful…
