Has anyone heard from Summer ?
Hello. I have been trying to contact my friend Summer (Summerhill38) who was very kind to me when I was diagnosed and had surgery. She is not answering her door or phone. Summer had found a lump and was going for tests this week. She had never had any tests on the mastectomy side until she insisted this week - what the ?…

Look What I Got!
I picked this up today. I am so thrilled to have my own SUP rather than forking out for a hire one on the odd occasion I can justify the cost (this has come from birthday and Christmas presents). What has this to do with BC you may ask? Apart from being such a fun and peaceful thing to do, the constant but gentle movement…

Everyone's a Comedian
I've been trying to get on top of the gardening which has suffered badly this year. I was talking about it and mentioned that I wanted to get the heavy duty weeding done before the hot weather and the increased activity of the slithery things. My husband said we should ask the doctor if my interrupted lymphatic system…

Unique family traditions and quirks that make you smile
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the little things that are unique to my family. The traditions and habits and quirks that we share that would probably seem odd to others, that make me smile. For example,* on birthdays we always give a card that is not a birthday card, e.g bon voyage, best wishes on your christening,…

Your day in three songs.
Hi beautiful people. I am a huge music fan and have found it so very important in helping to get through the last year. I have used it as a distraction to send me somewhere else when I have had to do something not so nice or when I was scared. I've used it to help the tears flow or not to. I use it to change my moods. My…

Normal day
Hi. For the first time in how many months I had a normal day. Normal as before diagnosis. 3-1/2 weeks after surgery and six months of tests biopsies and mastectomies - I played 18 holes of golf. On a bit of a high. Didn't win but no dramas, my wish is to get through chemo the same, and still stay positive. Push through.…

Felt like a prize Idiot.
Today has been an interesting day I never want again. I had my first mammogram and ultrasound today 11 months post diagnosis, lumpectomy, no spread, chemo and radiotherapy. Later I picked up my 2 envelopes and sat in the car and read my mamm and ultrasound results. The mammogram was very pleasing. Then I read the…

Travel insurance
just wanted to share Tick insurance now has a medical screen and I got insurance for two trips next year at very good rates and covered for breast cancer at no extra charge. I got a quote yesterday at escape for 4 to 4 times the prices. I haven’t had to make a claim before but the PDF looks very comprehensive.

1 lot done and dusted
tomorrow marks my last paclitaxel and just wanted to celebrate this little milestone. Next week I will start on my 4 rounds of AC (dose dense-every 2 weeks) and while I’m not excited about that I just thought I’d shared my one step closer to the end goal of being cancer free.

Blister, pop it or not?
It has been nearly 2.5yrs since chemo and I have been trying really hard to get out of this lethargic funk I am in and get on with life but everything I do seems to have consequences. Fishing and kayaking brought on a rapid heartbeat and now I take beta blockers to slow my heart rate down. Getting used to the pills was…
