New research
An Alzheimers researcher in Utah has had what she considers very significant success in eradicating Alzheimers in mice (no, don't ask how the mice got it!) by using an existing drug - Paclitaxel! Fingers crossed. And given I disliked Paclitaxel more than A/C, I'm hoping that the exposure might, just might, give my cells a…

Endocrine therapy compared to menopause
Hello, this is a question for those ladies who went through menopause before starting on tamoxifen or an aromotase inhibitor. I would be interested to hear if you found your endocrine medication-induced side effects were similar to or worse than those you experienced while undergoing menopause. I am soon to start a 3 week…

Anyone else feeling cold all the time after treatment? Had surgery and radiotherapy last year & started Letrozole in June. Had a few side effects from the Letrozole - occasional hot flush, big weight gain, occasional trouble sleeping (but that could be because my brain comes up with plot ideas as I'm an author...lol),…

Changing from letrozole to tamoxifen
Hi team! I’ve been on letrozole for 2.5 years, and am noticing the aches and pains and vg atrophy more now, so my oncologist has prescribed tamoxifen. She says it’s safe to change but I’m still a bit nervous about it - will it be as effective in keeping the cancer away, and will I get more side effects …. Has anyone else…

Lumpectomy removed healthy tissue and not the tumour
Hi, I had lumpectomy done to remove my tumour a couple weeks ago. It was done with mammogram guided hookwire. I met with the surgeon yesterday to discuss the pathology result and was told that hookwire was placed incorrectly, so instead of the tumour, the surgeon removed healthy tissue. Has anyone heard of similar case? I…

Where to have radiotherapy?
Hi, I hope to get some feedback about where to have radiotherapy treatment. I live in Melbourne. I know some public hospitals are training hospitals, so not sure if that effects…

Anastrozole side effects
Hi all, looks like I will be taking Anastrozole after my radiotherapy treatment. I understand that a side effect is reduction in bone density. Being osteopenia Im concerned about this. Is reduction in bone density a side effect for all taking this Anastrozole or just some people?

Hives
Been on Letrozole for 9 months. A few side effects (weight gain, hot flushes, occasional diarhroea). But now I have hives on my Labia Majora. I've been using Aloe Vera which has stopped the actual itching. Any suggestions on dealing with hives? Because it's from medication I don't know if it can be cleared up.

Letrozole / Zoladex Side Effects Hitting Hard
Hi there, I'm day 9 of Letrozole, and week 2 of my second Zoladex injection. The joint pain has hit, but my biggest challenge is fluid retention, especially in my legs. Sitting and standing are really hard, I can't bend my legs more than 90 degrees. I've tried lying with my feet elevated but to no apparent benefit. (both…
