Challenging my perceptions of body image!
I'm new to this group and was keen to hear about other people's experience with how they chose whether to have a reconstruction or not with a mastectomy. And how they felt afterwards. I've just turned 49. I had my first breast cancer 2 years ago (DCIS left breast) and thought once we had treated this that this would be the…

The never ending circle
I literally go from ultrasound to mammogram to mri to ultrasound and then biopsies. This is about my 6th time in 2 years which they say is because of dense breasts. This is getting frustrating and the costs are so high. Has anyone else had this experience. At this stage negative but last two years this keeps happening.…

Hi all, I would like to know what your experiences were at your first year mammogram after a lumpectomy. I had a mammogram this morning, followed up by an ultrasound. I’m seeing my specialist next week but that is such a long time away. It’s so nerve wrecking. When would they recommend a biopsy? Is that usually done…

Here we go again
I underwent a mastectomy for grade 2 lobular carcinoma in July last year. Both sentinel node and axillary node biopsies were clear. I didn’t require radiotherapy or chemotherapy but commenced anastrazole which I am tolerating well. My Oncologist told me I am officially a breast cancer survivor and I felt very well and…

I'm not ok ... looking for book recommendations that will chase the blues away
The past few months have been particularly tough. While I remain BC free, my health has really declined in the past year. I spent 2 weeks in hospital in July then I left hospital early to be with my wonderful beautiful Dad who was dying of severe dementia. I am grateful I got to be with him for those last few weeks and…

Look Good, Feel Better program available to ALL with Breast Cancer - check it out!
Earlier this year, I attended a Look Good Feel Better session - and altho I am not a 'girlie girl' (ie I rarely wear makeup of any sort!) I was amazed at just how much fun it was - and I learned that I CAN 'pretty up' if I want to! Many of us here (particularly newly diagnosed) may not have heard of the program - it is…
