Skin checks
This is just a reminder to get skin checks along with every other checks ✔️ we all do. In some cases breast cancer has links to melanoma. Chemo too can bring out skin issues. I had 3 melanoma before my skin cancer diagnosis in 2020. I have had a history too of abnormal cells in many of my moles. Post breast cancer and…

Treatment for post chemo soft nails
I wanted to share my discovery on great nail treatment For over 6 years I had terrible nails that were soft, easily broken or torn and would never grow even near my fingertips, this only occurred after having chemotherapy For the previous 6 years I had used a variety of nail hardeners as well as taking “Hair, Nail and…

Vaginal atrophy. Why didn't someone warn me?
There’s a long list of things nobody warns you about when you go through cancer treatment. It is fairly well known that chemotherapy, radiation therapy and significant surgery all carry risks and side effects but when your life hangs in the balance most people will agree to anything. I did. My biggest shocks were the…

DMX or Lumpectomy
I was diagnosed in September 2023 as Hormone negative HER2 +. My first thoughts were DMX & get rid of it, surgeon said "no I needed chemo first" which caused my first & only meltdown pretty much all day if I was on my own as I wasn't in control. I finished my chemo on Thursday just gone & have surgery booked for 22nd Feb.…

New to MBC. How to stay positive when every Onc meeting seems to bring less certainty?
Hi, I'm new to online forums, so here goes. I was diagnosed stage 2 grade 2 BC in 2014 aged 36. Find out 27/12/23 metastasised to my bones at age 46. Married, 3 kids (9,11,12). It's not hormone receptive anymore, so treatment is looking like chemo, after hip replacement and radiation. I enjoy a laugh and some practical…

Who gets to see McGrath Breast Care Nurses?
I see so much promotion of McGrath BC Nurses. I just wonder how they decide who to see? I don't know many women in Adelaide, who have access to one. Are they available in all states? Have many of you, my fellow BC ladies, have seen one of these Nurses? Are they only for patients in the Public sector? Just curious.

MBC found 1st May 2023 and as of 25/12/2023 .... no pet scan.
Its seems the local hospital has no protocols in place to deal with a patient with claustrophobia. They have continually delayed giving me the scan and I will not consider any treatment until I am fully aware of the spread of the mets. From day one I have had nothing but drama and stress with the hospital, getting a call…

chemo or no with micro metastasis
Recent mastectomy with aesthetic closure, one mini slash micro metastasis in one lymph node, hormone positive at 90% and no chemo? Only a 2% chance of it adding anything to my 10 year rates? I keep reading everyone has chemo with lymph node involvement… just a wee bit concerned I’ve made the right choice? Thankyou.
