Breast Cancer and Ulcerative Proctitis
Is there anyone else like me here? I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Proctitis, a mild form of Infammatory Bowel Disease about 3 months after I finished radiation and started Letrozole. I was relieved in one way as I thought that I had colon cancer. But UP can be ugly and has sadly continued my year of bad health. 😫 I think…

What health or lifestyle changes have you made since diagnosis
Hi everyone My diagnosis with BC is still pretty fresh (Feb 2019). I am just curious to know the changes people have undergone since their diagnosis in terms of changes to their diet, lifestyle and positive changes to improve mental wellbeing. This road to recovery is long beyond my 24 weeks of chemo. I feel like it will…

Re tests
Just wondering if anyone has had any tests after chemo and radiation has finished. I am TNBC, my oncologist said that there is only mammogram/ultra sound follow up. I am 64yrs old she said no to removing ovaries as it's not oestrogen feed cancer. I had bone and ct scan before lumpectomy September 2018 nothing since. I am…

Introducing Liz O’Riordan
@arpie made me aware of this lady and saw this article today about her so thought worth sharing for those who have not heard of her. The breast cancer surgeon who got breast cancer https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-47767386

Interesting article on Chemo Brain.
This was shared to me and made very interesting reading. Being told that "chemo brain" was vastly exaggerated by patients, and that if at all it existed, it would soon resolve after active chemo, is put in perspective. My brain certainly doesn't have a clue as to what my oncologist states, it still stays badly affected.…

When you get cancer twice or more
Sorry if this is in the wrong category and kind of depressing..but I have a question for those women who have been through breast cancer and then were diagnosed later in life with more cancer - breast or elsewhere. How did you cope with that second diagnosis, and did your family/friends react differently to it compared to…

Letrozole Joint Pain & Exercise
I've been on Letrozole since August 2018 and have had a lot of joint pain and for the last few weeks, soft tissue issues with my knee as well (area of an old ligament injury). I'm cautious about saying things are improving because I've been caught out before since starting the AI, but for the last week I've been doing some…

Breast Cancer surgery - the gift that keeps on giving
Hi all. Feeling a bit down about just being diagnosed with lymphoedema. Thought I had dodged that bullet, but alas, no. The Lymphoedema specialist gave me a booklet by Cancer Australia, but it lacks practical advice from women who have been there, done that. Lymphoedema affects my fingers, hand and arm. Grateful for any…

Sigh! Winter
I used to love winter. Maybe not so much this year. Not even May yet, however two layers of warm socks are not keeping my ankles warm enough to stop the pain. Ugg boots are great and I have no hesitation wearing them shopping if that is what it takes. Going out to work however??? There are dressy Uggs you can buy but very…

Catch up...
Hi there - haven't been around for a while, yes, have been lurking. So first apologies but have had head in sand and hands over ears eyes shut and going lalalala. Not happening to me! But sadly yes, the aftermath of BC does get some of us. Briefly - finished Chemo beginning November, after single mastectomy and Diep…

Half a boob, half a brain!!!
Well, after having an MRI to explore why I am having frequent headaches, GP told me yesterday that I have several ischemic lesions (non cancerous, for which i am grateful) in white matter of brain! He said please dont panic,it can be an ageing thing (I'm 58) and may mean nothing but does put me at increased risk of stroke…
