Changing hospitals - how is it done?
Hi, I am currently being treated for breast cancer at Monash Health. I have had enough. I have had two surgeries with ‘unexpected’ poor outcomes (the type of situation where the doctors keep saying ‘well this doesn’t normally happen’ - except it’s now happened twice). I am now two weeks post my second surgery with an open…

Gah. Back again.
Almost seven years ago I roller-skated through Olivia Newton John hospital to Xanadu for my last radiotherapy session, post lumpectomy. Here I am again... another oestrogen positive cancer, same stoopid dense breast. It was picked up on MRI as it couldn't be seen through my milky dense breast tissue and after an MRI biopsy…

Sorry if TMI but genital pain with chemo...
Currently undergoing 4 dose dense AC and cannot find anyone else mentioning this side effect maybe due to intimate nature? My genital area is inflamed and feels swollen and sore. It's painful. Surely I am not alone with this side effect? Does anyone have experience with it and how long till it becomes less painful?…

Can not believe it.
Shock, denial, anger - cant imagine how I can move towards acceptance. Newly Dx. Initially was stage 2, then told stage 3 and now looking at stage 4 with lung mets. What the! This roller coaster is insane and I want to get off. Found a lump 8 weeks ago, took a month to get into my rural GP, another 2 week wait for scans…

Hair Loss Advice
Hi beautiful people. I have just commenced chemo a few weeks ago and I am just starting to lose my hair. I have bought some hats and scarves but I would appreciate some advice on wigs. Looking at the possibility of a real hair wig? Would really appreciate your opinions. I live in the the Wollongong area. Thanks ☺️

Struggling with Negative Emotions
Good morning, I am new to the forum so apologies if this subject has been discussed previously. I had a double mastectomy in March 2024. Breast Cancer is so prevalent in my family, but all other family members have only needed a lumpectomy, not a double mastectomy. I'm not belittling their experience, but I feel I don't…

New here
I was diagnosed a week ago with triple positive Grade 2-3 Lobular breast cancer. Finally told my family and kids which was one of the hardest things. The information and scans, biopsies, tests, clip implants, chemo port op… it’s such a lot to take on so quickly. Hoping this will settle down once scan results are in and…

Other Side Effects
I just finished my 4 cycles of AC and had my first of cycle of Paclitaxel in Sept 3. During AC, I noticed my nails started to turn black (slowly from the root) , but only yesterday that I felt pain. All my finger nails are sore , like they are going to come off. I have the common side effects; fatigue, nausea,…

Early Breast Cancer
Hi All, thank you for the feedback and best wishes you gave me in July. Sorry I’m not sure how I reply being new here. I was intending to have a mastectomy and changed my mind. Opted for lumpectomy. Margins were clear but close so I had more tissue taken then some extra under my arm to fill the space. I’m healed now and…

small steps forward
Hi everyone, just a little hello as I’m joining you on this journey and now feel brave enough to say hello. I was diagnosed June 28th, following a random self check, two weeks before a planned 5 week trip overseas; and since then I have commenced the journey of small steps through appointments and surgery, cancelling…
