Dental work while having Chemo treatment
In February I was diagnosed with Early Stages Her 2 + Estrogen + cancer. I have 6 months of chemo, radiation, Hercepton and Hormone therapy ahead of me. I have already had my first 2 three weekly cycles of chemo and have a tooth that is cracked and needs to come out but the dental surgeon said he needs to cut into my jaw…

Has anyone tried acupuncture for lymph build-up ?
I had a non-skin-sparing and non-nipple-sparing mastectomy in late 2014. (No reconstruction was offered). I have been seeing a masseur for the treatment of fluid build-up and she used the Chinese cups when it was really bad. I have now moved and have not been able to find a reasonably-priced masseur with the remedial…

Mother's Day Classic
I just wanted to cheer on all of you who are doing the Mother's Day Classic tomorrow. I was intending to but the way my joints were (and the difficulty of organising anything) sidelined me. So, Go Girls and Boys!

How do you handle the big anniversaries?
Hey everyone Its the first anniversary of my surgery date tomorrow; the fateful day I parted ways with what was left of my tumour, a third of my breast, and about 23 lymph nodes. I always try to be brave on the anniversary of a scary/sad day but it usually falls apart and is very emotional and teary anyway. How do you deal…

Exercise in Adelaide
I've decided to go ahead with my own aqua exercise programme. At least once a week, probably Friday afternoon around 4pm, at the ARC pool in Campbelltown for about 45 minutes. I may try to fit in a Tuesday or Wednesday as well but waiting to find out term logistics around kids. If any of you Adelaideans would like to join…

Geelong influx
The hospitals here just got an influx of oncology patients in the past month. Then the heart centre today told me they are having trouble keeping up with all the new oncology patients needing an ECG. What is going on? Has there recently been a new push to get tested for cancer? So many, so sad.

Anxious weekend ahead
Well ladies I haven't posted on here for a while but do check in and see how everyone is travelling fairly regularly. I had my yearly check up today after having last years go smoothly, feeling great (other than the usual back pain and occasional nerve twinges from Rad damage etc), seeing my Oncologist or Breast Surgeon…

Baseline Measurement for Lymphoedema
Due to cording issues, I see a specialist physio on a reasonably regular basis. The clinic treats cancer survivors and obviously, lymphoedema issues. Last visit, the physio decided it was time to measure and scan me again for any swelling in the arm. My scan came out high (but it's a new machine so possibly that could be a…

When to see doctor
At what stage do you go to the doctor for ‘different’ sensations? I don’t want to be paranoid but I also don’t want to seem a hypochondriac. I am loathe to ask my BC nurse anything as she just tells me, “that is normal. You have to stop worrying’ How do I know what is normal. I have never had BC before. I have a lump under…
