Alcohol
Watched a nutrition and breast cancer webinar yesterday which said should have less than 6grams of alcohol per day. Given that a standard drink is 10g that’s not much. Has anyone else been told this?

Interesting article: “Smile! You’ve got cancer”
A friend shared this article with me today, by the great American writer Barbara Ehrenreich. It’s about 10 years old but I found it really interesting, and am so curious to hear thoughts from the wonderful minds here on this forum. Especially those of you who have been in this world for a little while longer than me. Even…

Taking the next step - buying prothesis
Hi, I haven't posted for a number of months as I have been settling in to my new life with no breasts and trying to get my energy levels back. I had a bilateral mastectomy in February last year and spent chemo and my 60th birthday in lockdown. I am now on Letrozel for 5 years but otherwise life is more or less back to…

Eyelash growth
Hi everyone I'm happy to see that I am getting little black spikes that I hope will grow back as eyelashes after chemo. Did anyone have any success using eye lash serums or I just need to be patient for them to grow naturally. Cheers

Need for Lyphodema Arm sleeves
I don't actually know who needs these sleeves. Is it potentially anyone who has had a Mastectomy? Or only those who had axillary clearance? I've had both. I have been measured for Lyphodaema with the SOZO machine, and do not have it yet, 11 months after surgery. Has anyone else been recommended to get one, especially for…

Post Mastectomy Pain
Hi I had her2 negative in left breast in 2019. I had chemo, lumpectomy and sentinel node removal, radiotherapy and Herceptin. Got the all clear then in November this year they found cancer in situ in what remained of left breast so I had a double mastectomy and some nodes removed on 4th Dec. The scars go from under my arms…

Gratitude, appreciation, thanks
I feel I must express my thanks for the 'little' (actually highly significant) moments of feeling connected and 'normal. I've had two very tough years with the undiagnosed need of a right hip replacement, rheumatoid arthritis, and severely tender and painful feet (no medications over a seven year period have helped at…

Happy New Year
Well for those of us in Victoria it's a matter of keeping an ear on the news as they reintroduce restrictions. It's been a difficult year that seems to be continuing. Here's hoping there's less chaos and the breakouts in Victoria and NSW come under control soon

Things worth remembering
Ruth Hunt, in Perth, has published a letter to herself, about the things she would have found valuable to know earlier, before metastatic cancer, It seemed to me a really good list for almost anyone. Her circumstances are very sad, but she has found a way of looking at the best of her life. A link to the full letter is at…

Treatment and it's impact on Rheumatiod/Osteo Arthritis
I can't be the only person on horomone treatment (Letrozole) and suffering from increased symptoms of Rheumatiod/Osteo Arthritis. I would love to know how others have managed their symptoms. For me the symptoms came back when I was undergoing radiotherapy, and never really subsided when I was allowed to take my medication…

Tissue Expander - Saline Infill pain
Hi All, After a year of treatment I'm finally preparing for breast reconstruction. I had my first saline infill in my tissue expander and oh boy the pain was so intense - probably the worst pain I have felt in a long time! I'm 3 days post and still very uncomfortable and dreading my next one. I don't want to give up or…

Going flat with pride
When diagnosed with early HER2+ DCIS in August (right breast), my decision was immediate. Bilateral mastectomy for me. No reconstruction. Why? I'm 61 years old, have been married twice and have had another 15 year relationship. I'm not looking for a man and furthermore, I don't care whether a man would find my flat chest…
