High grade DCIS in Brisbane
I was recently diagnosed with high grade DCIS in Brisbane.Unfortunately, I have only been in Australia for a year from China and have 2 children with me. Fortunately, the lump is very small, less than 1 cm, and it’s still carcinoma in situ. The doctor performed a breast-conserving surgery, and I’m currently waiting for the…

Stiffness under arm after lumpectomy
Hi everyone I just had lumpectomy on Tuesday. Doing quite well. Minimal bruising on breast. I need advice please - I've been given exercises to do from breast nurses but have stiffness under my arm. I can't do the exercises because it's a bit sore. Should I just push through gently? Can I give it a gentle massage?

Scar Management for anyone finding them taking a long time to heal, red, bumpy, itchy...
Hey All, I just wanted to say in the past I haven't really worried about my scars from surgeries, however since doing my Diep Flap recon in February and subsequent revision surgery in July, I had my abdominal wound reopened. It was red, itchy and bumpy so thought I'd have a consult with people who specialise in scar…

Treatment in Australia
Hi there, I am a New Zealander and I am wondering if I would be eligible to receive treatment in Australia. I am very disappointed in the care I have received in NZ, it hasn't always been like this but I am very disheartened at the fractured system we have, in communication and empathy,

Running on Chemo (ROC)
Day 1/112 chemo every 2 weeks - 16 weeks This morning I was up early and did a 30 min easy paced run. I wanted to draw a line in the sand and see what distance I can run easy in 30 mins before chemo (BC) I wasn’t fresh as I had run 3x 1k repeats the day before and walked 5k with friends the night before. So I wanted a…

Newly diagnosed - feeling lost despite stuff happening.
I was diagnosed a few weeks ago, rarer invasive mucinal carcinoma. Coping well with what I know is happening but not so well with what I need to do, or where to get explanations. I’m having a Scout clip implanted tomorrow because I can’t have the MRI my surgeon requested. I have a CRT (heart) device and MRI was requested…

moments. Thank you to all of you for sharing your stories. It is important to
see the full gamut of what is happening and what is to come. In my initial
moments I was…
