Lifestyle and Diet Changes After Cancer.
Hi all, I have done chemo from Feb to April after surgery in Dec. Radiotherapy was done in May. My herceptin treatment will continue till next Feb. I thought that was it, until I heard several cases of cancer recurrence around me!!! Ok, to be exact, at least 7-8 cases. Most of them are breast cancer cases but there were…

Cautionary tales
You learn something new every day. I have had lymphoedema for four and a half years, with remarkably little trouble, so discovering I have cellulitis was a bit of a shock. The good news is that my immune system is working well and the redness and swelling had abated dramatically even before I got to my GP. But antibiotics…

Trying to get on with my "new life"
Today marks a milestone for me. A milestone which I'm sure women who have NOT been diagnosed with bc would struggle to understand, in fact, I've mentioned my milestone to a few family members and I get that blank look on their face, while I know in their minds they just want to say "yep, she has really lost it". Today…

Otis retreat
I've just had the privilege of spending 4 nights at an Otis Foundation house in Kioloa. After a very long 6 months, to be able to take a break like this between chemo and rads was just so special it's hard to describe. The first couple of days were warmish and humid, then it fairly bucketed down. Absolutely perfect. I…

Riduculous and frustrating! ***Rant warning***
I'm ten months post surgery, four months post chemo and finished rads at the end of May. My health has generally improved--I don't feel 'sick' any more, but I'm struggling with lymphedema in one 'foob', cording and scar tissue in my armpit, tendonitis and myalgia in both legs and feet and now lymphedema is setting up camp…

Cup of Tea
What tea are you drinking that you can actually taste or helps with nausea? The week before my next chemo I can just taste green tea and jasmine tea. I'm completely off black tea and coffee. xx

Hair Shampoo
Hey guys, I finished chemo in April and my hair is really coming in now. I haven't needed to wash it just using warm water as its not oily just quite fluffy. Would love to hear what shampoos others started off on their fresh baby hair. I'm quite aware of not using to many harmful ingredients.

Need to share oday
just back from a lunch with a local bc group - they meet monthly for a coffee or occasionally lunch. Was wonderful to meet them and know they are in my community.I noticed bc transcends differences in age/ background and also noticed their positivity even though they acknowledge there are tough spots - It isn't a…
