We had the best day. I was easily noticed in the pink tutu. My husband wants me to throw it out "You'll never wear it again" Bull.... it will show up again even if it is only to dance around with my little granddaughter. (Santa will have to bring her one too) It was a very moving day. The Dragonboat ladies were there…

Oh my!
Look at that! Seems like we have a new website. :) Hugest congratulations and thanks to everyone who's helped out over the last several months, you're all stars! Of course, this is just the beginning, there's a lot of work still to do -- but for a first step, it's looking good. Yay! Now -- time for Field of Women LIVE!

Gosh this has been a busy month!
On Wednesday I assisted Sue Schwabe, breast care nurse to hold a mini field outside the offices of the Northern Tasmania Community Nurses. Many came, a good field was made and a pink afternoon tea was served. One pink lady was dressed in a blue glove to represent the 100 men p.a. diagnosed with breast cancer and a male…

Viva The Beacon
I salute and honor those of us that got decent media coverage especially with their local newspapers for October. In Launceston we only managed one picture of one Mini-Field earlier in the month, so I am glad we have The Beacon to shout our tales from. I even sent pictures to the paper but anayway the message got out to…

End of October, girls!
Congratulations to you all on what we have all achieved during Ocotber. It is frustrating that most of the papers get imajor details wrong but we have to accept what they put in and hope it reaches someone who needs to contact a supporter. I rocked up to the gym to address a class..... thought there would be 20 but there…

Victorian break away
Had three nights away touring the Great Ocean Road, thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the lookouts, waterfalls and existing Apostles. Walked heaps (sore calves!) and especially enjoyed our stay in Port Fairy at the Merrijig Inn. Had a few days in Ballarat, popped into the small nearby township of Gordon, where I found a great…

Field of Women 2010
I attended last night, and personally this will be a moment that I will never forget. The emotion on MCG grounds was immense. To be with other women who are facing the same journey, we all stood as one together. We are survivors.

My first blog
Just been having a quick cruise through the site and figuring out how to make it all work. Amazing to see that there really are other people going through the same stuff as I am. I have found that a lot of friends and family have decided to drift away, I feel like they have written me off already. I have been nearly 5…

Year of the Lump
The year I was diagnosed with and received treatment for breast cancer I kept a diary/blog which was rather long winded, but a great help to me psychologically. It can be found at this link: yearofthelump I thoroughly recommend the process of writing at times like this, especially for those like myself who are alone, or…
