Morning Walk
Anxiety levels are mounting with surgery today and sleep further away than ever. Out walking before daybreak this morning. Best way I know to reduce anxiety. 5km - probably last time I'll be able to do that for a few weeks.

Thoughtful
I saw this on facebook and, although motivational quotes aren't really my thing, this reflects what I've always thought but sometimes lost sight of (not that I'm a multimillionare and have quite the luxury of Richard Branson). Perhaps it's turned up today to give me a jolt of reality. Happiness CoLike PageMay 30, 2017 · If…

Hair loss
I would be interested to hear if other women have suffered from hair loss that has not corrected itself. It is over a year since I finished chemo and radiotherapy and I have male patterned baldness. This has been a tough year- I survived surgery and chemo only to be dealt this blow. Many tears have been shed and I am…

Great Day!
I woke up this morning feeling very fragile. Surgery in a couple of days and wondering how it and whatever treatment follows will affect me. Back in August, for my birthday, my family gave me the promise of standup paddleboarding when summer arrived. Well, I expected to be doing it sometime over the school holidays but the…

Fighting back with fitness
I thought I would share my ups and downs regaining my fitness since chemo. For a start I gained an astonishing amount of weight during chemo, around 20 plus kgs. I had gained 3 to 4 post surgery also before chemo. (Bilateral mastectomy and recon) After chemo with my oncologist blessing around 6 weeks I went on to optifast…

Woe is me
Warning... long, self-indulgent, self-pittying post. Please don't read on if your emotional plate is full. Self pitty is completely contra to my normal mantra, but a huge vent is needed. Recently I turned 40. This year I had all my ideas about mortality and life thrown under a bus. Not necessarily a bad thing, as I'm…
