Hi
I am almost 2 years post bilateral mastectomy and have finished all treatment. I want to get back to swimming and am looking for suggestions, I would like to buy a tankini style swim top but do not want to wear prosthesis. I am a size 18 and have been searching the internet but can not find anything suitable.

That's a tricky one. If budget is no issue pick out some nice swimwear fabric from a fabric shop and have a seamstress make to fit.0

I buy cheap swimming costumes from eg Millers,Target etc and just doctor them.If the neckline isn’t high enough,I sew in a fake Lycra cami. I also sew in pockets to take a foam/soft form prosthesis.2

You msy have seen thus site already.
I think this style might sit well against a fkst or smaller bust. If it has a shelf bra you could cut that out.

Otherwise an actual proper sport swimsuit that is designed to push you flat might be a better option.
I have a zip front version. ..that can hold a prosthesis if you want. But racing suits push you flat anyway.

If you don't want to wear falsies, don't. Get in the pool, it's sooooo good.
If you are feeling self conscious perhaps have a look at who else is in the pool with you. Most people don't, which is exactly my point. Just follow that black line and count the laps.1 -

I continued attending pool exercises all through chemo and from 3 weeks after surgery of bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction
I didn't even get a cold. The chlorine stung my eyes on taxol so I wore clear safety wrap around glasses for aquafit..0 -
Hi there love I have a tankini and I got a lady to sew permanent inserts into the front boobie part and you cant even tell. The lady makes custom made swim wear in Agnes Water qld her business is called beach buddy’s and she ships Australia wide. Her name is deb and she is lovely if you want to look her up. The inserts are like the ones used in push up bras and she uses these in her swimwear too. Im a size 14. I got a custom made tankini and bottoms made by her a few years ago (before bc) and it cost me around $100 but the quality is great hasnt faded and has still held its shape. Alternatively you could buy a tankini and go to spotlight and get the inserts and sew them in yourself if your clever or a local dressmaker could do it too. Xx1

Hi there
I picked this one up from Rivers the other day. I am a size 18 too. It is just a normal tankini with no built in bra etc.
