So ends another Christmas Day. The last four weeks have been interesting but I really do not wish to repeat. I love Christmas and hope the next one will be pain free, but today was a good day so I am thankful.8

feeling extremely grateful, got quite emotional today realising how lucky I am to have had good results after mastectomy. Merry Christmas to one and all on this page, so much love and care in this forum 😍8

Having another Christmas dinner today as my oldest daughter and her family didn’t make it on the day. Everyone is pitching in while I just supervise. What’s not to like about that? Food, presents, nice family and rest. I could get use to this!6

Lap it up and enjoy @Blossom1961. Happy new year with good health and good times1

Hello everyone,
Only 2 weeks until Christmas!
How will you be spending this Christmas?
I'm looking forward to seeing my sister and her family at Christmas who I have not seen for 10 months. Should be a fun reunion!

Christmas? I can imagine if will be a big thing for some families (stay safe!) this year but I’ll be keeping to a sane minimum like I do every year! I’ve never bought the ‘happy holidays’ or ‘family’ stuff, it’s a Christian festival, I’m not really a believer (although some of the traditions are lovely) so preparing from September on doesn’t appeal. But a very happy Christmas to all those who are celebrating!5

I’m not religious either, but I do like the tradition. We just have a small tree up, and try to get together for lunch with immediate family on the day, just cos it’s a great excuse to catch up. Being originally Orthodox, our Xmas is actually on the 7/1, which is mostly about family gathering for lunch. We don’t do the whole present swapping, as that’s not what it should be about according to me, and my daughter already knows Santa doesn’t really exist. I’ve told her the story about St Nicholas, and she’s fine with that. I will appreciate the break though, and the emptier city! 😆🎅🏼😁

This Christmas i am cancer free after the roller-coaster year of covid, breast cancer with treatment of surgery chemo, radium and now tamoxifen .
I am so happy to be here and grateful i have a beautifu group of supporters but in particular my husband son and daughter in law are amazing.
I never use to like Christmas but I am loving preparing for it. So far tte Christmas tree is up and we have days of catch ups with family and friends to celebrate over the next few weeks. I am grateful for it all and feel so lucky.
I have my my grandmother's pudding and will make trifle and rum balls. There will get ham, seafood and salads. Bubbles too.
Most of all this Chrismas there will be love and gratitude. I am not religious these days but I do believe in the spirit of Christmas. There is a spirit of Christmas because of all the love there is in people at this time.
I hope you all have a most wonderful time over this Christmas and New Year period.6 -
Well done @Cath62! I am feeling a tad BAH HUMBUG this Xmas .... no real xmassy feelings at all. Probably due to hubby’s health as we see one Dr after another and have more scans and stuff up til Dec 21!
Enjoy your family gathering, @Giovanna_BCNA and @FLClover ...
My sister and BIL will arrive Dec 27 and no doubt we will be screaming at each other on Dec 28! LOL. Don’t ask why ... it just happens! You reckon we’d work it out by now, 65+ years later!! Haha
Hubby and I (weather permitting) will have our Xmas picnic down by the water and put my kayak in and have a fish!!
Wishing everyone one a wonderful and safe Xmas xxxx6 -
No idea - hopefully not doing anything Christmassy other than sharing some presents and a nice lunch with the immediate family then possible an afternoon on the sun lounge with a book. Not likely to see it happen, though.2

Crap. The Christmas thing again? Already?
2020 has given me quite an insight into what I enjoy and what I don't, and what I will tolerate for the common good.
Christmas can bugger off.
If I never see a piece of tinsel and monstrous commercial bastardry again, it will be too soon.
Each to their own7 -
I’m with you @Zoffiel .... my never having had kids probably contributes as many do it ‘just for the kids’ ....
haha glad I am not alone @FLClover!! Her hubby was amazed first time it happened. I hadn’t said a thing! Apparently it was the way I looked at her!! LOL.
Hopefully this year will be better!! ( I really think it is because I play uke better than her!!) Bwhahaha. And that will never change!! Haha3 -
Well I shall be making my annual trifles. One for the family get together, and one for our fridge. I put some sherry in the family one, a tad more sherry in our one, then get on with polishing off the rest of the sherry all by myself. After that, I don't give two tosses about the whole kerfuffle.3
