Hi Pink-Kayak All the best with your treatments ..... there's been a few threads on Scalp Cooling ... some have bought their own caps to continue wearing at home as well as during treatment ...... I did a 'search' (choosing 'NEWEST' to put the most recent comments at the top) .... click on any that may help you. Make sure your friends/daughters/grand daughters all know their breast density - BreastScreenNSW (and other states) are now REQUIRED to advise clients of their breast density, so they are aware that it may be 'hiding' their cancer (as happened to me.) After I gave them a 2nd chance to 'spot it' (following my surgery) they gleefully told me that there WAS NO cancer in the same image they'd missed it on, 6 months earlier .... I then had ROBUST conversations with BSNSW, even receiving a call from the Head Honcho & discussing it 'in person' ... that it was ESSENTIAL that women KNOW if they have Dense Breast Tissue & of the risks that Dense Breast Tissue entails! Being diagnosed LATER (thru missing the BC) may lead to a FAR more serious diagnosis, even Stage 4, straight up. They say only younger women have dense breasts. That is RUBBISH, yet they still spew out the same misinformation. I was 65 (hardly young!) when I was diagnosed after 2 mammograms and an ultrasound had missed it (and they still weren't certain it was BC - but at least had suggested a biopsy, which confirmed it.) Following 7 years of Hormone Suppression meds - you can read a newspaper thru my scans now, as there is NO density showing at all! I often wonder just HOW many years had they had missed it? I'd been attending the Rural Buses for 20 years - but they only have 2D Mammogram machines, not 3D which are MUCH better at detecting BC even in dense breast tissue - but you REALLY need an Ultrasound every time as well, if not further more advanced imaging. I will NEVER attend a rural BreastScreen bus again!Re: One week until my surgery....

I'd REALLY like to see more Male Breast Cancer 'inclusiveness' in both the Website and forum but more specifically in our Logo - matter of fact, they are not even specifically mentioned at all in this document ..... as raised in this Thread: Chest Cancer Breast Cancer | BCNA Online Network It would not be difficult to have the Blue Man standing next to the Pink Lady (as suggested in the post above and the pic below) and have a male included in the front page Pics? This 'logo' was on Xmas Baubles some years ago - personally, I LOVE IT! I reckon it should be our recognised logo! Maybe we could have a poll on it? It's great that the men have their own Private Group to discuss their issues in total privacy ..... but I am sure that MORE men would join BCNA if our opening pages/logo shows more male 'inclusiveness'. It would be incredibly hard for many men to come to terms with having a BC diagnosis ... and this will show that we 'care'. xx How about we work together to get them included in all our logos, photos and blurb? xxRe: enthusiasm is there but
That's a shame cranky_granny xx. It is just SO unseasonably hot & muggy here .... very uncomfortable ... but a few weeks back, I had the electric blanket on! Go figure! This is a good thread to read on previous discussions regarding 'inclusion' of men in our logo and 'branding' ..... it was a good 4 years ago .. Men diagnosed with breast cancer | BCNA Online Network We've tried to influence the 'bunting' .... including having a Blue Male added to the Pink Lady ... but copywrite & stuff interfered .... I can't see ANY reason why a Blue Male figure can't be standing NEXT to the Pink Lady figure, as shown here on BCNA Xmas Decorations from some years back! I am SURE there would be no objection from members to the Pink Lady & Blue Man standing hand in hand as BCNA's Official Logo! How about it BCNA
