This Christmas I will be.......

This came up on Twitter. I know it's very cheesily American, but it's still a beautiful sentiment. "I'm gonna love you through it" means a lot to me at the moment, as my friends have "loved me through" this year and I know they will continue to do so next year and beyond. This forum has also "loved me through it" and will continue to do so.
A new year 2019 wish for you all.

@vickidqld - welcome to the forum (not that any of us really want to be here!) - it is the best place to get support & advice on pretty well anything BC related (and other stuff too!!)
As @Flaneuse says - whack 'your story' over in the Newly Diagnosed section & you'll get lots of support there, too.
It sounds like you are well & truly BUSY & surrounded by family & friends right up to your surgery date - which is terrific. It is the best way to stop the mind from going in to overdrive ......
Take care, have a great Xmas/New Year ..... xx

Just had a mastectomy and start chemo and rad next year so has taken just a little bit of my mind and time at this time of year, even added random numbers to my user name instead of letters! I am so grateful to be able to spend this Christmas at home with my wonderful children who have been organising everything and keeping me in good spirits with their affection and good humour. Family, good friends and great co-workers are really helping make this an enjoyable Christmas. Happy Christmas everyone 🎄2

Lopsided is a great user name M xx1

@Lopsided_L853 All the best with chemo and rads. Relish the love of those close to you while you recover from surgery.0

Thank you for your kind words and messages. Home now and I must admit I am surprised at how calm and positive I am feeling as I can be a bit of a worrier. One thing I’ve found a bit challenging is reversing my role of supporting children and young people at work to letting people take care of me (a bit hard for me to do but I’m getting there) I do expect to have yuck days but have decided to tackle them when they happen and focus on the brighter side of things in life like egg nog and a Salted Caramel Baileys at Christmas!5

@Lopsided_L853 Well done you! Enjoy that Baileys.0

Well done @Lopsided_L853 (love the name BTW!) Yes, we all find it a tad hard to accept help at the start - take care tho - you may get used to it! Nah - let 'em help, all that they can!
Your salted caramel Baileys sounds interesting ..... we have a thread here for anything you care to put up - the Baileys one sounds YUMMY!!

And if you want a bit of a Xmas Laugh, you can go here - some are funny, some are a tad naughty - but still funny!:

If you have ANY questions at all .... whack 'em up & someone will be online to help answer them!
Make haste slowly to start off with, take your pain meds regularly & Take care, xxxxx0 -
My aim this Christmas is to enjoy the 25th at a 'reunion' of sorts with a few friends as I don't have family. We'll be relaxing, laughing, swapping stories, and eating. Gosh, I may even have a glass of wine! Our location - a Gold Coast beach, a perfect backdrop to our seafood BBQ. To everyone out there; whatever you do be kind to yourself xx5

Sounds wonderful. Enjoy your time with your friends snd the vino xx0

That sound idyllic @ValerieLouise - wish I was there.0

Just realised that this time last year I was in surgery for the wide excision and sentinel node. This Christmas will be different.5
