@Blossom1961 How about a few tightwad Tuesday sessions at the movies? Can you take some friends up on their offers to 'help'? 'Hey you said you wanted to help... I need distracting and cheering up before my op. Take me on an outing?!'

@kmakm The only friends who have offerred more than fake platitudes live on the other side of Melbourne except for one friend here in Geelong who is a very busy CEO. I will take her time up a little but I don't feel comfortable with too much from her. My family are all in NSW or I would con them into helping. My daughter will take me out a little but she is a shift worker in a very stressful job (child protection). Thank you for your concern. 😍

I give up. I've gone to bed at 2pm. Insanely busy day yesterday culminating with feeding my parents and sister before we all trooped off to the school for a Yr 7 event. ExMed this morning (had to reduce a couple of exercises, just couldn't manage it), both my thumb joints are really hurting today (Panadol Osteo makes zero difference) and I'm having a fatigue day. I've got a list if things to do as long as my arm and no doubt not doing them is going to piss of one or more people, but I can't be vertical any longer. I'll try again in a couple of hours when the kids are home. A Day Howl if you will!

I have definitely found if I can stay awake till that magic 10.30 to 11 mark I have a pretty good sleep for 6 or 7 hours without taking anything. Or maybe my brain is just getting used to the estrogen being leeched from its system.

Oh what a long day ahead. Just watched DVD - Two is a Family - nice movie. If anyone has seen The Untouchables from years back, same French actor. That took care of 3-5am.........I have so much to do today...on about 4 hours sleep (and that is being generous)

My tolerance has hit an all time low.  Just went to the GP and had to see someone new as my lovely dr moved to Orange earlier in the year, and the others I would normally go to are booked up until sometime in January.  Anyway, sometime over the last 11 months, I seem to have done something to the last joint of my little finger - oncologist assured me that it wasn't due to treatment and that I should see my GP.  Possibly tendon damage, maybe arthritis, maybe something else.  Well, I tried to be patient with her but honestly - she had no bloody idea.  I do know that your average GP is not going to be right up with bc treatments but she didn't know the first thing.  I ended up extremely short with her.  I agree that I probably need an x-ray but the problem is that I would have to go back to her for the results.  So, off to another doctor I go!  Call this a day howl!

Oh gosh, that's a bugger, @Sister.   I know how debilitating it is when your beloved GP moves away - mine left for Melbourne about 4+ months ago ..... I've only just seen a 'new one' in the last week, who I hope to hook in with long term.  :(

Isn't it annoying that you keep having to go back for useless results now & then when you don't have any faith in the 'process'? .....

How important is it that you be 'confident and comfortable' with your Doctor?

100%, I reckon!     You are worthy of your howl!!  xxx  I hope you can get relief.  I take 'Indocid' for my arthritis - 2 at night and it has been helping.

When I  was first diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, 16 years ago, the useless G.P. that I  saw did nothing for me. I had to find my own breast surgeon, organise a referral and an appointment.
This time, now that I  have  mets., my beautiful G.P., who is more like a friend, phoned me at home to ask me to come in to see her after a biopsy.   She organised a referral to my oncologist, with whom I get on very well and who used to work where I  used to work.
Getting on with your doctor is so important.

Not helpful @sister when you spend most of the appointment trying to repress the sound of your own eyes rolling. Definitely sack her. It might pay to ring and ask to talk to the practice manager , sometimes the need for focused treatment escapes those making appointments.
