Night Howls

I reckon half your fun would be building the Spud Gun, @Zoffiel - target practice would be the next lot of fun - for whatever ferals! Here is the plan for a basic one .......
http://www.spudgunner.com/combustion.phpThey only get bigger after that! Trust me - I reckon they would scare the crap out of Fruit bats that are roosting in numbers (as ours are!!) You are looking at disrupting them as much as you can, not knocking off specific ones.0 -
We used to build them years ago, back in the days when you could buy canisters of butane to refill your cigarette lighter.
One of the more spectacular episodes involved an ox heart (no, not the tomato variety) that was fired over the fence into a party by a rival (ahem) social club. A parabolic arc is an interesting thing when paired with gravity and a large chunk of offal. Pests of all descriptions running in all directions...

Got my one year all clear today. Flying to NZ tomorrow for a well-earned family holiday and hubby has a conference to attend. It's a nice one, with a great social program and the same people go each year, so lots of people to catch up with. BC threw a spanner in the works last yer and we didn't go.8

Hi. Not an official howler but slightly annoyed. Have febrile neutropenia. Am in hospital for another couple of days on antibiotics and trying to find the infection. Nurses laughing, babies crying obs every couple of hours. Hard way to get a cup of tea.0

What fantastic news @jj70! Woohoo! Have a great time in NZ. And now to bring things down to a practical level, what hair colour product do you use (have you gone grey?)? Everyone tells me they love my hair but I don't think I can keep looking in the mirror and seeing such uncompromising grey!
Not such great new @Harvey1903 - hope you get on top of it soon.1 -
Being in the Slammer sucks @Harvey1903 Get someone to bring you a thermos mug (I keep one in the ' here we go again' bag) and some decent tea bags. Yeah, that's a contradiction of terms, but it's better than tepid dishwater.

@Harvey1903 If it's the middle of the night, you're up, and you're on here you're an official Howler!
You poor thing! I hope you're feeling better this morning. Any idea how long they'll keep you? K xox2 -
@sister I too was not ready fir such a grey appearance. At 47, it madw me look and feel much older.
I decided...well basically...fuck it really...I am happily bleaching away via hairdresser. Probably the blondest I've ever been. Cancer can get stuffed...it's not dictating my hair colour too.2 -
That's a bugger @Harvey1903 - I hope you recover quickly! Yep - take your own tasty bags ....
YAY! Congrats, @JJ70 - have a wonderful time in NZ! Where abouts will you be? I lived there for 15 years form '84-'99 in Auckland. It is a wonderful country & so much to see & do. If you enjoy seafood - try & get hubby out of a fishing trip if he gets a day off - NZ Snapper & Kingfish are ON pretty well all year round! Enjoy!

I am a bit of a zombie this morning. Tossed and turned all night and had ridiculous repetitive dreams. I get my CT results later this morning.0

Still pretty buggered. Bloods not good, more antibiotics today and hopefully white cells will start to do their job and fight infection, @Kmakm maybe Saturday. @JJ70. Took me three years to grow out my died brown hair to go grey, then it fell out with chemo. Next version will be completely different. Enjoy NZ.1
