@Harvey1903
Very Warm Kimberley wishes to you for a good recovery.1 -
Crossing all my bits for you @Brenda5.
Genetically cursed in so many ways, but not the hair! Came back thick and dark brown with the same number of greys that fell out. As I'm keeping the pixie cut for a while at some point I'm going blonde for the first time ever. Gotta try it once.1 -
Teas not too bad.4

@JJ70 enjoy visiting my home country - still think it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth. Where are u going?
@Brenda5 hope your results are all good and u get some sleep tonight.
The humidity in Sydney has been killer this week. Have had a headache all week and been sleeping like crap.0 -
Bloods came back positive today, finish antibiotics 6:00am tomorrow. So fingers crossed tomorrow if bloods are still good. I actually had the injection you have the day after chemo to build up your white cells but it didn't work for me, ended up in emergency three times. Sleep well everyone.2

Here it is @Wonk. And hey @BroniD, for you too.
Welcome to the thread, and welcome to the forum. It's not a place we wanted to find ourselves, but I hope you'll find this forum as helpful as I have.
This thread originally started elsewhere and generated some advice about sleeping. I'm sorry to say that for many, there's no magic cure.
Where you are now you're awake with a brain in overdrive, flooded with fear and as I think it was @Sister who said, only a sleeping pill will knock you out. If you have an amenable GP, you could try asking for some.
It enrages me how little attention is paid to sleep in a BC diagnosis. It's so important with healing, maintainingg good physical condition, and most of all a good mental space.
Like the others i'm afraid to say I haven't had a decent night's sleep in a long time. The last time I did was the night of 22nd November 2017. I got my callback on the 23rd... First I was where you are, with a good sprinkling of anger, then tears (four kids so a lot of night crying was required!) and then during chemo (which put me into menopause) the hot flushes started. They continue due to the hormone therapy that's stopped all my estrogen.
That's not to say this will happen to you! There are plenty here that get back to good sleep when things have settled down. Which I promise you they will. Take some deep breaths; they quieten the nervous system and yours is in overdrive right now.
As hard as it is to do, try to take it one day at a time. Stay in the moment as best you can, and try not to cross bridges until you come to them. Be kind to yourself, even be a little bit selfish. Accept any help that's offered. I didn't want to tell anyone either but I was gently warned against the foolishness of this by my doctors. I took my time (a month) but as my treatment unfolded the help of my friends was stunning. It was faultlessly generous and absolutely made things easier and better. I have never felt more loved than when I was having chemo!
Come to this forum for a rant, a cry, a question and even a laugh! Big hug, K xox
Well, maybe not a sardine, but you get the drift. Night times are always the worst. Hang in there Wonk. K xox1 -
Thank you kmakm, really appreciate your thoughts and advice and yes you did make me smile. Glad I’ve found this segment and no doubt I’ll check in again soon.1

Just thinking...we should put the howling dingo up as our logo. I was telling them at work yesterday about Night Howls and the image of the dingoes howling all across Oz in the middle of the night still resonates with me!2

@kmakm You make so many of us smile. Thank you. As an aside, my hubby uses the word chuffed all the time and he was once informed it meant high on marijuana. Hmmmm0
