Love looking at quilts, great photos @arpie. I’ve been doing the native birds one, it’s all painted on black fabric then quilted in black thread. I think I got tendinitis from all the painting and haven’t done any for awhile.

The awakening breath

 Let the edge recede with every awakening breath,

Shrink and fall, or defiantly stand tall,

Presence of mind, solemnly keeps me awake,

Ungraciously the nagging truth beckons,

To gaze at the mountain or dare to climb,

Misalignment churns from within,

Conflicted words bravely echo,

Doubtful, the quarrelsome beliefs intertwine,

Dare to be free, or just dare to be,

As I hold myself in the equitable silence,

Unchallenged determination at the ready,

Let the edge recede with every awakening breath.

RAIN

 

The rain
splinters across my window, kindred to my irrepressible thoughts,

Clasped in a
suffocating daze, conflicted I am caught,

Grey clouds
dart hurriedly, echoing across my view,

Somewhere in
my untapped vision, I believe Heaven ensues,

Dampened
eyes in the rain I am cloaked, as unfinished tears graze my cheeks,

Weightless,
through memories I sift, for the sense of you I seek,

A numbing
stillness that speaks only of you, eternally transfixed in your grace,

Memorizing
your laughter, your gentle words, your fading loving embrace,

The rain
splinters across my window.

I like your writing @melclarity 👌🏻💗. You should get your stuff published if that’s something you’d be interested in.

@FLClover thank you, it is something I picked back up through my 2nd diagnosis. 7yrs post, it really is my soul soothe I have quite alot now and yes I would love to publish, not quite sure where to start for that lol. xx

LOL - I know a FEW people with piles like this .... all colour coded & all!

@melclarity make a compilation of your favourites and send them to a few publishers. In the meantime, you could start a blog online and publish them there. Advertise the blog through friends on social media and places like this forum (if they’d allow it).

Picked this up at a local craft stall on the weekend 
all for a good cause  the ladies donate a lot of the profit to the local cancer centre
they had heaps of different hand crafted Christmas themed stuff could have spent my whole pay packet but restrained myself

Aha. Another idea for next Christmas, along with the Christmas Tree skirt and the Christmas Table placemats and table runner I planned to make some 5 years ago!

However in my defence I have spent the year creating six quilts for a charity that I support. The quilts are given to any in need.

This is the sixth.

I called the quilt "Catitude". These cats have attitude.

@Annie C - I love the Catitude !!!!  I am sure several members would be wanting one just like that. It is beautiful.  Well done.  I hope the recipient appreciates it and looks after it as a treasure.
