Just diagnosed
Hello everyone. I received my diagnosis of breast cancer last Monday. Completely floored me and totally unexpected. I am 41 and just finished breast feeding my third child. Just discovered a lump last week. I have invasive ductal carcinoma grade 2. Yet to know the staging but there is evidence it has gone to a lymph. No…

Countdown to chemo, fearing changes to my body
Hi to this wonderful group of people who face challenges every day. I was diagnosed with double positive, (ER+, PR+, HER2-) late November, having had a bilateral mastectomy, right axillary clearance which found 1 and a fraction of nodal involvement and full reconstruction mid December. I chose to have a bilateral after…

Seeking info about St Vincent's experiences please
Hi everyone - I'm just taking my first steps on this journey and would be grateful to hear about any experiences through the St Vincent's system in Sydney. Everyone I know who has been treated for Breast Cancer has gone through Prince of Wales. My scans etc have always been at St Vincent's and I've always felt very well…

This is my first post. I hope to connect with other women on this unexpected journey. Like others, I had an overseas holiday booked for May of this year with my husband but have had to cancel due to being diagnosed with BC before Christmas. Life has been turned upside down. Surgery is on 23rd January with chemo,…

Not the best start to 2018
Don't really know what to say, so here goes Was over the moon just over a week ago, I was so excited to have booked flight's back home to the UK to celebrate Christmas 2018 with our family and friends. Can't decide on treatment.
Hi. I've only posted a couple of times and am finding it hard to post this. I'm a 48 yo mum of three. I was diagnosed in October and have had three surgeries, the last one on 5 December which was a mastectomy. I have just seen my oncologist on Friday and she has given me my treatment options. I was diagnosed with a 15mm…

Changing life
It has really been a challenging 2 months for me and my life is changing so fast. I am 47 and was diagnosed with a 1 cm DCIS, end of October. Had a lumpectomy and a re-excision in November, No micro invasion. BS then referred me to RT. My gut feeling is to skip RT and have bi-lat Mastectomy due to family history of bc. I…

Treatments
Thank you to the lovely women who responded to my very first post. I am overwhelmed with the kindness and support given to me. I went to bed last night feeling so much more positive and uplifted! I've never been on a forum before and I'm so glad I found it; though I'm still trying to navigate my way around (a bit of a…

Logistics of treatment
I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer a few months ago (ER positive, PR positive & HER2 positive) and am struggling to move forward with any of the treatment options offered to me. One of the reasons is logistics as I live in a remote part of QLD. My nearest hospital (2hr drive) doesn’t offer cold cap treatment and…

genetics
Hi all, I had BC in my family, dads side, grandma at 77 and Aunt at 51, so was having mammograms since turning 40, which this managed to grow in between. GP, Surgeon, and oncologist, seem very quick to dismiss a family link, saying they were old, when I put my sister 43 into the risk assessment tools, and now add me as her…
