Waiting, waiting, waiting + frustration
I’m sorry, I’m really making the most of the solidarity here. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my diagnosis (43yr old, Grade 2, ER+ PR+ HER- mixed lobular/ductal) & I’m usually a super patient person, but I’m feeling quite down. I go for my PET scan & MRI tomorrow morning, early. I’m then seeing the surgeon again next week…

Work/grief/sadness
Hi all, apologies if this has already been discussed but I couldn’t find anything elsewhere. I’m 46, had a right mastectomy (Diep flap) and left reduction in early December for stage 2 invasive lobular carcinoma. My recovery went really well, no pain whatsoever. I still have another procedure to alter the flap and then…

Reconstruction info
I’m new here! I was diagnosed in late November and went ahead with a double mastectomy just before Christmas. An overwhelming experience! There was no option at the time for immediate reconstruction for a few different reasons. I’m 51 years old. i have now been referred to the plastics team at Fiona Stanley and am trying…

Boob farewell?
I'm booked for surgery in 4 days for a unilateral mastectomy. I feel like I want to say farewell to the boob but am a little lost for ideas. On one hand, I want to say good riddance; on the other, it fed my children, gave partners entertainment and was a great, jiggly part of my life. I realise it's very…

Surgery
Has surgery last week for DCIS mastectomy and implant and other side made to match my new boob. Found out yesterday that there was a 1 cm cancerous growth that hadn’t shown up on any of the scans, feeling so lucky that I had routine mammograms and that DCIS was found so early so grateful to Austin Health for their care they…

Newly diagnosed and has spread to bones and liver
I literally found out 2 weeks ago that I have breast cancer. I just got back from an appointment today after all my scans to be told that it’s spread to my liver and bones. I’m absolutely shocked and terrified. I’m HER positive. I’m having a PET scan done to confirm about bones and liver and told surgery is not an option…

Long term Herceptin
Hi was just wondering how long people have been on Herceptin and how they are doing? I have celebrated 14 years this January and will have my 238th infusion next week. I have had a mastectomy and am waiting to have the other one removed as I hate the lopsided feel and having all my clothes moving to the left very annoying…
