@kmakm and @Sister Thank you for the lovely morning photos. @Kiwi Angel not. Cloudy in Brisbane. Bad night behind me, but spent some good waking time listening to audiobook of "Women in Black", which is entertaining. I see why Bruce Beresford has wanted to adapt it, for 30 years. Haven't seen the film yet.

@Sarnicad  -  I agree with @sister & @Flaneuse  - try not to be concerned too much about the rads!

I also had no real issues with my radiation - I had 4 weeks (Mon-Fri)  Towards the half way mark, I had some pink skin, then a bit of flaking skin towards the end - the weird thing is just how 'WARM' the area becomes too, ..... but you get used to that after a while.  It continues for 2-3 weeks after it's finished too.

So fingers crossed you'll have a similar time of it.   When you start, maybe take a magazine or book with you (in case they don't have any in the waiting room in case you have a 'long wait' - Port Macquarie had HEAPS of mags & stuff, as well as a massive impossible circular jigsaw puzzle for folk to play with - and tea & coffee machine.)

You very quickly become used to dropping your top in front of 3-4 complete strangers ...... and you also get an 'idea' of where to lie & in what position as you get onto the bench.  None of it was uncomfortable or painful.

The actual rads 'procedure' only takes about 1 minute or so - it is the setting up that takes the time!!  ;)   There is a lot of 'stroking' and gentle 'pushing' to get you in the right spot, lining you up with your 'new tattoos' .... and it is actually quite pleasant! (Am I allowed to say that?)  Not unlike a massage!  ;)

Just don't jump off the table til it is on the ground again (mine was lifted up, as I had my rads 'face down' and the machine had to zoom around & under me to access the bits getting nuked - and I don't even HAVE what I would call 'pendulous bosoms'!!)  LOL

All the best for your setting up - you'll come away with some tiny tattoo 'dots' .....  xxx

What a gorgeous sunrise, @Sister !!  I was still in lala land (or pretending to be asleep, anyway!)

OMG @kmakm   -  you've got SUN???   We've been overcast pretty well all week, then rain & big winds all day yesterday (YAY!) and it is overcast & rain & windy again today.  But we DO need the rain badly, so shouldn't complain!!   I just wanted to go fishing!   :(

@Sarnicad I didn't have any significant issues with radiotherapy either. I drove myself to all 30 appointments (170km round trip every day) and only had a couple of misery days about a week after I'd finished. A nasty ooozy armpit that resolved literally overnight just when I was starting to get to the end of my tether. There are definitely fatigue issues associated with rads, but geez Louise, what choice do we have? You've got this. Mxxx

I've started trying Melatonin again ( trying to get ready for work in a week) - absolutely crap sleep.  Grrrrr.

Home once more. Took ages to get to sleep. Like, a couple of hours. Brain wouldn't stop. Plus I had a strange ache behind my left foob that was quite painful. You can imagine where my brain went with that...

Back to normal for you now @kmakm?  I hope the ache goes away quickly - you've probably strained something getting packed up to go.

Early night for me as I was exhausted. Ninety minutes sleep later and hubby wakes me up with severe stomach pains. We spent the night in emergency. I just got home for sleep but left him there for sleep and more tests. Looks like gall bladder.

Sounds like I was the lucky one last night!

@kmakm hope your ache goes away - can understand the anxiety but as @Sister says it’s most likely a strain.

@Sister hope the melatonin starts working. I find it quite hit and miss and probably depends on what is going on in my head too.

@Blossom1961 hope your hubby is ok and u get some sleep soon

Had a really Crap sleep last night & lost an hour as well due to Daylight savings - so deliberately stayed in bed til the 'new' 8.30 (really 7.30) ..... I know I shouldn't - but it takes about a week to NOT think of the 'real' time!  LOL

For some reason my feet have started aching!  Not 'painful' as such - just a dull ache that seems to happen at night!   grrrr  So lots of rolling over & shoving feet outside of the bed so no 'weight' from sheet/doona .... 100 times!  :(

Melatonin didn't 'do it' for me @Sister ..... I nearly got up & took a Temase - but it was the 'new' 2am - so thought it too close to 'getting up' again!   Hope you settle down again soon!

    @Blossom1961 - that's a bummer!  I hope hubby is OK & hopefully doesn't need surgery!!  :(

Hope the ache diminished, @kmakm - and the concern! x

Garrgh @Blossom1961! Nights spent in the ED are ghastly. I hope your husband is feeling better and that you can get a nap today. K xox

Gall bladder removal for hubby tomorrow while I am having my Paclitaxol. Hey, bonus, we are on the same floor so I can wheel my drip stand out for a visit!
