    @Flaneuse I’m obsessive over appointments I honestly fear missing one - I think partly because there are so many and partly because I don’t want to miss anything that would jeopardise my treatment

    that said today was an appt day for rads - dr, nurse, finance and planning on and on and on.  Tats are done breath hold technique practised. First treatment is next Tuesday 11:20.

    I do wonder what people think when you say you will be working and they give you an appointment at 11:20 - how am I meant to make that work for my employer?  I get that lots of people are having treatment and are working(mind you the waiting room average age at 9:30 this morning would have been 75) this is hard enough without losing your job because of medical appointments

    oh and they haven’t given me any of my other appointments so I can’t plan/let my employer know how we are going to manage all of this.

    The not knowing with rads appointments was probably the worst part about the treatment.  As if you (or your family) have no life outside of it.  I have no idea how anyone manages when they're working.  And I did think it was just something you had to deal with in the public system until I found out that private us the same.

    Has anyone been in contact with our favourite Naughty Knitter, @allyjay? I'm worried about her and don't want to impinge on her privacy but I'd really like to know if she is OK.

    @Zoffiel Ditto. I posted something for her the other day and I haven't had a response.

    @Sarnicad I honestly don't know how working people manage radiation. Have you talked to them about it? Maybe have a burst of tears and say you'll lose your job if you can't do it outside working hours. I agree, there are a LOT of us oldies there, for whom time doesn't matter.

    @Flaneuse...that is so lovely of your physio. I love it when medical professionals treat cancer patients with dignity and understanding.
    I was treated like that today by my PS. Nice guy. All booked in for my nipple reconstruction under local anesthetic in January. Flat foob, can stay flat. (I liken it to an image of  a slightly flat tyre on your bike ) I am not having numerous liposuction attempts at plumping up the front of if. I don't really care and neither does my husband. excellent, saved a packet of time, $$ and pain.

    Sorry I am more intermittent on the forum now than once was. The Can at 40. Do at 45. campaign takes most of my time these days and it is going so well. Finally spoke to @Kirsten_BCNA and BCNA are 100% behind the campaign and helping me with letter writing to ministers. If anyone has a FB account and want to support the campaign just type in: @Can40Do45 into your FB search bar and the page should come up. LIKE the page and share some posts Howlers! Thanks @kmakm for continuing to be a sounding board. All of your ideas and advice has been useful and on the money Kate!

    @Sarnicad,

    Can you ask for the last appointment of the day and knock off work a little early to get there?  They are normally pretty good at shuffling appointments.  i used to go after work most days and if I had the last appointment it didn't matter if they were running late as I didn't have to rush back towork.

    @sarnicad when I had my rads I worked until about 1 each day requested my appts for the afternoon ,so it was easier to manage .They also gave me the appt times in weekly blocks  ,just had to confirm the following days appt each day in case it  had been altered .I'm sure they will do their best to help you if you ask . Good luck its tedious but an easy process !

    @JJ70 have liked the Facebook and am loving the stories coming through.

    Currently arguing with my 44 yo niece to go have a mammogram says she can’t afford it counter Breastscreen is free!  Urgh you’d think your 51 yo aunt having BC would motivate you but apparently not

    after processing last night(how am I ever going to get the brain going for work!) I’m going to call them today and see if I can get something after 1.30 so I can work 9 to 1 and then go. It is just tough as it is my first week back to work (I’m not even planning on going full time just half days to start) and I need not to be a complete fruit loop but also still pace myself at the same time and I already have to have Friday off as I have herceptin in the morning and rads in the afternoon

    @Sarnicad Good luck with all that.
    @JJ70 Congratulations on the wonderful work you are doing with the campaign. I'm a Facebook refusenick, having been hacked twice. But I'll ask friends who are on it to search and Like.
