Testing question
My 44 year old daughter has been treated at Wesley Brisbane for cysts in her breasts for years. Now they have found something suspicious in her breast and want to do MRI. She’s had them before but this one needs to be done at a particular time of the month, and she’s had her uterus removed so no periods. They said if it’s…

I get mixed advice but I’m off the pain meds which is a positive. I’m still not standing straight though. I’m close but it’s a…

It pays to get a second opinion
My male surgeon recommended a mastectomy and that I should consider a double mastectomy and DIEP as the fat they don’t use gets thrown into the bin! He was not open to looking at other options. However he did refer me to his colleague a plastic surgeon and my out of pocket expenses would be $10k-$20! I found an amazing…

Should I be worrying about potential restrictions to medication access?
This thought pecked at me a little last night (because it had only just occurred to me) and then they spoke about it on the news this evening...Will restricted imports impact my access to life-saving drugs? Should I be stockpiling? That sounds so wrong, but I'm a little nervous as I have mets and this drug regime has been…

Query
I had DCIS last September, it was removed, but no lymph glands removed. No radiation treatment was said to be needed as it was caught early. I now have a sore spot on my side sort of under where your bra band goes around your body on the opposite breast. Had an ex-ray last week showed up normal but I am going for a U/S on…

Tattooing over mastectomy scar
Hi ladies, just wondering if any of you have had a tattoo over your mastectomy scar. It's something I would like to do but I'm keen to hear from anyone who can tell me what it was like. I recently got my first ever tattoo on my forearm and didn't think it was painful at all. Just putting it out there in the hope someone…

Has anyone been on Zoladex injections before there DIEP surgery... where did you continue the injections in the month before and after surgery? Were you able to use Lupron instead? What the heck is going on with this BC thing????????
Ok, so I know the figures are 1 in 8 or 1 in 7 depending on which article you read but honestly. When I was diagnosed I knew one of my friends sister had had breast cancer and my family history 3 generations ago. That was it. I would see the bookings come through at work averaging one or two breast surgeries a week and…
