Night Howls

@tigerbeth.. I f**ckn hate Collingwood. (Sorry any Pies supporters)1

As I grew up with a rabid football supporter (my sister), I do not do football so footy comments are sailing over my head - don't even know who's playing!
A bit annoyed as I went out on Friday night so got to bed later than normal and had little sleep during the night. Up at 4am and down to the hospital. I went out last night to the flicks and got to bed late again, and here I am, awake early. (I should say that I NEVER go out, these days.)
On the other hand, I can highly recommend "Ladies in Black". I read the book years ago and, since work sent me a Hoyts card, I took my lovely friend to see it. The story doesn't really go anyway and it's certainly not fast paced, but it is absolutely delightful (only word for it). We could not stop smiling for almost the entire movie. I'll be sitting down with my girls to watch it again when it comes out on Foxtel or whatever.3 -
@tigerbeth @Kiwi Angel My husband does the same snoring thing. Strangulated snoring noises or silence so profound that I have to reach out to see if he's warm. After years he finally did a sleep study. The results were inconclusive. He's somewhere in the middle. He could try a c-pap machine, or have an operation on his nose. He's done neither and the problem's just got worse! I don't know whst to do...0

My hubby occasionally does the complete silence mid snore thing - freaks the shit out of me if I’m awake to I prod him to make sure he is alive.
I went and saw A Simple Favour on Friday night - that was pretty good - different. Kind of like a black comedy.0 -
I've with @Sister on the football thing - ALL codes! Can't stand any of it!! Won't be watching any of it! LOL
I'll definitely put Ladies in Black on my list to watch! We don't do movies very often ....
Keith also snores badly & does the gagging thing too - I had him checked for sleep apnoea - not bad enough for a machine. Being an athlete, he also has 'restless legs' as well - so kicks out at all angles at any time - often kicking ME! However .... after he finished chemo, he decided he preferred sleeping in his own bed - so now we BOTH have our own beds! (Not that we sleep well EVERY night - but definitely better than before!!)1 -
@Sister
I too don't do football. None of it. I don't like that football occupies most of the weekend ( I get a lot of quilting done). But the worst is the post mortum on post mortum of recorded games. You've seen it once, you've seem them lose, why again?
@arpie
My husband and I too have separate beds and even better in separate bedrooms. I have the whole queen size bed to myself. Selfishly I can read in the early hours or make a cuppa. This came about after my treatment.
My husband had a telehealth consultation early this year (I was required to participate -I really did not want to) before attending a sleep clinic where he was asked about his sleeping habits. One of the problems apparently was my restlessness - it kept him awake.
Well I fixed his tantrum - I moved into the second bedroom. I slept. The best bit - well off he goes to the sleep clinic in Perth where it was found that my husband was the restless one! He sheepishly told me this when he returned home. Vindicated!
The sleep clinic found that his snoring was in the "mild" classification. Sometimes I am sure that the entire forestry team with their chainsaws are in there. I just close my door and all is peaceful!

I have just finished reading "While The Moon Burns" by Peter Watt. It is the third in the trilogy of the 2 families. I have read the first and third books now to find the second "Beneath A Rising Sun". Great Australian historical stories.3 -
@JJ70 I'm definitely with you there on the Collingwood thing !!!
I now have no interest in the Grand final at all but will hope West coast win ! I have a lot of lovely lady friends that basically have no interest in footy that barrack for the Pies , I have no interest in being happy for them ! .......Go Eagles !! Bizarrely one of my sons barrack for them ! Go figure !
Going to to have to drag my hubby to a sleep clinic I feel , brought a king size bed last year so the noise is further away from my ears !!!
@sister thanks for the movie recommendation , will check it out
and lastly slept until 8.30 this morning !! Yay ! Winning !!1 -
Did everyone sleep well last night? I did 😊. There are no messages on night howls!! Very rare0

I spent the early waking time catching up on all of the posts from yesterday!1

Woo hoo @Doodoo...let's hope so. we'd need to do a collective High 5 if that is the case. It was here....a good solid one AND I didn't take melatonin...just as an experiment. I was really tired from 8 hours at The Perth Royal Show, so thought it was a good night to try without.1
