Into town for coffee at 9 am at Neaps Cafe with the ladies to solve all the world's problems and none of our own.
Do battle with the bank to deposit a WA Country Health cheque. I ask you - who writes cheques these days? What's wrong with internet banking? Oh damn it's "money day" (pension day) and the queue is out the door. I will do it tomorrow.
Off to the post office to check mail box. No mail, no parcel either. Damn truck held up at Port Hedland due to the highway being closed because of the fires around Sandfire Roadhouse.
Now waiting for "fridgie" to come and clean the air conditioners for an exorbitant fee (supposed to come at 8:00am, now 2:00pm and still waiting!)
Will do a bit of sewing this afternoon. Hope to finish quilt.
All in all an average day. Only 35 degrees at the moment. Cool day!

Annie it is a breezy warm day here at 17* with wind chill of 0.5* I have the heater on !!!0

@SoldierCrab
What's a heater? Just joking.
I do know what they are. However last year when Ian and I stayed at the Cancer Council WA accommodation lodge the manager looked at us strangely when we asked for instructions on how to put the air conditioner on reverse cycle for warming!

@JJ70
The coffee got done but the bank, the post office and the air conditioners were no goes.
However I did spend a lovely hour and a half in my sewing room rocking to the music of Mamma Mia and the quilt section was completed. Only 1 row to go. Quilt has to be finished for posting by early October.
I have "bushed" Ian for a week. He is going out bush with a mate to close up his mate's bush camp at Bachsten Creek for the "wet" so there will be a lot of sewing done all hours of the day and night.
Ah bliss.3 -
grrrr! OhGosh .. I HATE those days when everything goes awry ... @Annie C - and I am JEALOUS of your 35 degrees! Lucky if it got to 18 today!!
Well done on the progress on your quilt!! WOW! Ian will be having fun ...... not long now, I guess til 'the wet' starts??
Your turn for a good a good sleep tonight, I hope, @Kiwi Angel & @SoldierCrab !!

@arpie here’s hoping xo1

Oh well @arpie you get days like that.
I would like 18 at night. We are now hitting 25 and humid. Nothing like the sound of an air conditioner at night. At least our new ones are whisper quiet. Still can't sleep though!
After the new air conditioners were installed the "fridgee" came to check them. We asked could we have our old ones back as the new units were too quiet!

An uninterrupted run at the thing you love doing is bliss! Enjoy.
Can't wait to collect some fabrics for you when I'm in Hindustan!! K xox0 -
Funny isn't it - you sort of get used to 'noise' @Annie C .... and can sleep thru it. I used to live almost directly under the Sydney Harbour Bridge - and never used to hear the trains rattling over ...... These days, I wear ear plugs so I don't hear the birds at sparrow's fart!!

@arpie
My aged guinea fowl (all 4 of them) take great delight in gossiping while kicking aside the leaves on the front lawn outside my bedroom window at sparrows fart. Funny they are the only bird that disturbs me. I think it is the sound they make - a rusty hacksaw blade scraping through a piece of lead piping!
