Night Howls

I love them. I once had 74. Not a bug on the block was safe. I gave some away. There's many a cattle station in the Kimberley that has Annie's girls. These 4 quietly cluck their way around the block. They are getting on in years (like me). It is quite funny watching them fly/run up their roosting tree in the evening. Same tree every night. Over the years I watched them fall off their perch (literally).

@Annie C there is a winery in Hobart that has some and u can feed them - I just find them so comical to watch. U can’t see/hear them and not smile.
Much better sleep last last night thanks to temazepam Thursday. Got just about 7 hours and got up and managed to do a small 2 1/2k run which means so much to be able to slowly get back into exercise and get some muscle tone back.
The fat cat is on a new diet so it knows my alarm goes off at 5am so just before 5 she started chewing on the headboard and trying to burrow under the covers. Pre alarm!!0 -

I miss my cats since they went to God nearly 2 years ago. Kira, the little white cat with 1 blue eye and 1 yellow eye always patted my face gently to wake me and then would snuggle down next to me with 1 paw touching me.
Smoko, so named because he always appeared at morning and afternoon tea times, used to sit on my feet. His purr was like a rumbling earth tremor.
They now sleep permanently in the cats garden with the other 2 ( Moggy and Cfer). It is a green and shady little grove filled with crotons, caladiums, palms and ferns. There is a rock for each cat.
I often think about getting another cat or a small dog to fill that part of my life but this coming and going to Perth is too disruptive. No one to care for it.
However there are fond memories and many photos of them and a garden so they are never forgotten. Pets become a huge part of our lives, touch us in so many ways and fill a big void.

@Annie C they are such beautiful animals - mine was such a comfort during chemo - kept an eye on me to the point where she was sometimes too annoying!! . Maybe in the future I could get another cat they are a little more self sufficient than dogs xoxo0

I've got my lovely Storm-cat and he's a joy but he's also an independent young teenager about town. I do miss our old cat, Merlin, who we lost after the bushfires. He would lie on the floor, directly beneath my pillow and snore! He'd also come running if anyone was upset.2

@sister they are so intuitive animals aren’t they. If I’m upset Kiwi just lies on my chest and stares into my eyes.0

@kmakm best company and they all have such different personalities. They are much easier if u have to go away or something as well.1

Wow ! it's 3 am & I'm the only one howling !!
Hope that means you are all enjoying a pleasant slumber x
After a shitfull night at the footy , very disappointed :'(I have been laying in bed for hours solving the worlds problems !
Written essays in my head to help solve @kmakms tears avalanches , will try & put these musings in words tomorrow!
Planning strategies to ensure what's best for my dad going forward .
How to get my shoulder back in working order , had a procedure today that may have helped on that front ! Yay
How to tell the 'Pies supporters on my fb that have come out of the woodwork to get fucked & not lose any friendships ! Probably end up keeping quiet as I've learnt not to stir up other team supporters! But it's hard
well its goodnight from me I hope ! Taken some drugs , God I hope they work , I need sleep !!1 -
I hope you got back to sleep OK @tigerbeth. Thanks for your mental efforts on my behalf! The kookaburras are laughing here. I've just woken with a boiling hot flush from a horrible dream about receiving another cancer recall letter. It was a great relief to wake up but it's left me feeling unsettled! Sorry about the Tiges last night. I was watching with my father-in-law. That second quarter from the Pies was extraordinary. Time to pin all our hopes on the Demons now! K xox

Your welcome @kmakm !
Sadly no sleep for me !
Settled down with some deep breathing only to feel cramps coming on !! Shit !
Listening to hubby quietly snore ( is that such a thing) while some animal outside the bedroom window is making weird noises probably a possum
Hubby then decides to go completely quiet have a very mild moment of 'is he dead ' ?
Eventually question solved by loud snoring !!
By this time I need a loo stop !
Hearing super early birds making super loud noise !
Omg !
Eventually got up at 6 having tea & toast in bed with the hope of at least a bit of sleep but don't like my chances
guess I'll be off my game today just like the Tigers !1 -
@tigerbeth I was awake at 3 for a loo stop and also lamenting the poor form of the tigers but stayed away from the devices so I could go back to sleep quickly which did work
i was also awake at 1 and 5 but settled quickly again until 7.30 so while broken an alright night of sleep for a change1 -
I had not a bad sleep due to an overindulgence of red wine but not long enough. Bed at 3 and up again at 7!!2

@kmakm Some would disagree but every home needs a moggy.
@tigerbeth What a terrible night. My husband used to do that snoring and then no sound thing. Turned out when tested at the sleep clinic that he was stopping breathing. Has used a CPAP for a few years now.
I've been up since 4am as is pretty usual. Had to leave here just after 6am, anyway.1
