I slept well, completely conked out after a bit of a rotten day yesterday. Thank goodness, no more steroids until next cycle. That fairy dust is gold dust1

Hi guys, I think I'm finally settling back to a sort of 'normal' sleep pattern ..... it isn't EVERY night, but it has been 3 or 4 nights a week for a while now! WIN WIN!
I use a fairly thin pillow & try & keep my bedding the lightest I can for the best warmth factor! So with the weather cooling, I've gone from just a sheet & empty doona cover, to adding a 'fleece blanket'. Next step when it is colder again .... will be bringing out the feather doona.
I still need a temase every now & then - but I think I am 'winning'! YAY!
I hope you are able to work out a pattern or comfort style that suits you ..... SOON!

SORRY - I have been AWOL for a few weeks........been sleeping like a baby!! Seems like the steroids have worn off, my brain has settled down and I am at some form of inner peace....before I rev up again for DIEP surgery in a couple of weeks. I am sure a few sleepless nights ahead as that approaches. I've been writing poetry and have finished a synopsis for a book that I am writing with a friend...all this writing is cathartic!

@JJ70 lucky u even if it is just temporary. I seems to be having my worst sleep this cycle. The panadine forte works to knock me out but then I start tossing and turning in the early hours of the morning. Luckily off work till next Tuesday so a nana nap will be in my future today.0

I have been diagnosed 2 weeks ago, waiting for surgery date, problems with sleeping as well, evenings and nights I am the most worried, simply scared about all the uncertainty. Especially if I am on a morning shift, I get anxious because I can't sleep but need the sleep. My mind totally rejects movies at present, so I dug up an old pastime for anxious times: jig saw puzzling, started yesterday on a beautiful scene with sparkling river running over rocks, a church and snowy mountains on the horizon. It felt soothing just looking at the cool running water, especially since around Tamworth everything is bone dry at the moment. I jig saw puzzled, had cup of herbal tea, till I felt really tired, then fell into bed, I did not think about my cancer for the whole time and had a restful sleep. Thank you everyone for posting, it helps not to feel alone,

I've just looked at another thread and see why you've not been sleeping @kmakm. Good luck with the onc appointment today.
It's shit isn't it @tigerbeth Bloody hormones got me into this mess.0 -
Thanks @Sister. I'm lying here trying to relish the fact that my joints don't ache. Last time I saw my oncologist she told me that the AI will give me joint pain and by the time I come off it in seven years they'll ache anyway. Fan-bloody-tastic. SO looking forward to seeing her again...
