@Newby24 That's good to have a diagnosis. Abscesses develop very easily during chemo when your resistance is down, apparently. I got one in the middle of my first round and it came back three times. Warm saline washes may help to prevent a recurrence. Mine was on my labia and I sat in saline sitz baths every day for weeks!

Thanks everyone everyone for your lovely comments and @Flaneuse I will try the warm saline wash. It is very small and it has a tiny head but I have been showering and the just body washing to keep the are really clean, hopefully the antibiotics will help clear it up a little quicker 💕 I love the forum, always make me feel better 💕

Good to have it diagnosed @Newby24 and no doubt, a weight of your mind.

Thanks @Sister yes it did help me sleep better last night. I am feeling okay just a little cranky tonight for no particular reason, I’m sure why lol

Newby is it nice to see you are feeling so supportive as you are having some hiccups at this stage....
my specialist tried to heal this area on my chest wall for like 6 + months only to realise that is was actually a vein sitting on the surface....

@SoldierCrab it has healed very well and I can’t even feel it now but continuing with the antibiotics. Day 3 and starting to go down hill. I have been having silly thoughts in the last couple of days of reoccurrence and really don’t know how to get rid of them. I do have a loving family who are here for me and I really haven’t had a breakdown as yet but I’m just hating these feelings and I don’t want to give up. I’m also a little frightened because I have my dates for radiation and not looking forward to that and then the ten year tablets that I hear cause more side effects then chemo. Actually writing this down is helping me feel a little better. Thank you again everyone for your support always.

@Newby24 As is often the way, the anticipation is mostly worse than the reality. Try to stay in the moment. My psychologist advises not to waste time on predictive grief! In other words, try not to cross bridges until you come to them.

Many have no trouble with AIs. It might seem like everyone does, but when you have a problem you're more likely to end up looking for answers in a place like this.

Take it easy on yourself this weekend. Big hug, K xox

@Newby24 Radiation is very tiring, because you have to go every day; but if you look after your skin it should be straight-forward. There's no pain involved. If you keyword-search "radiation" you'll find threads with discussions about creams and other tips during radiation.
What the other girls have said about fear of recurrence. The fear comes and goes in waves, and we get pretty used to dealing with waves.
    All the best.

Hey Ladies I have finished my 3/4 chemo and the backs of my hands are killing me, been to doctors, oncologist and they said they are not sure and gave me a creme hydroxyl but it’s not working. Sorbolene is soothing a tiny little bit but anyone have any suggestions please? It’s very red and feels like burning??

Not sure @newby24 because that wasn't a side effect that I got.  If they are dry, then try Moo Goo Udder Cream (good to have if you're going for rads).  If it's that the skin is painful but not dry, maybe one of those over-the-counter antiseptic, anti-stinging burn creams.  I don't know any brand names and I don't know active ingredients so you may have to check that it is okay to use.
