The general principle is quite sound. Switch your mind firmly to off, then focus on something blank and non worrying. Problem is it takes practice, my mind is adept at switching on unbidden and you have to keep at it even when you think it's not working......discipline, discipline, which soldiers may have more of!

@Afraser I know - clearing the mind is easier said than done.

No! No cat spew at this hour of the morning! Then you let it back on the bed? Good grief!

They always must spew in the middle of the night!!!  She hurt her leg and the pain medication I got for her I don’t think agrees. There is no way to keep it off me and the bed @Zoffiel :D

There is a way. You are just not mean enough to do it :)
I had a cat problem here for a while; the neighbours had two staffies and their multiple cats prefered to hang out at my place which was dog free at the time. Shitting in the garden and murdering finches. So, I took to stalking them with a Super Soaker filled with white vinegar. Man, cats really don't like being sprayed with that stuff. It doesnt hurt them, but they hate having to clean it off themselves. It took about a week of Guerilla warfare and they decided that there were better places to be.

Oh no @Kiwi Angel! Spew is revolting at any time but in the middle of the night it's definitely worse. I hope there's no lingering smell... And that your beautiful cat nurse recovers. K xox

Managed to get back to sleep for a couple of hours - the 10mg melatonin must be working. @kmakm no lingering odour and she will be fine. Started giving me the blank, unblinking, unwavering stare while sitting on my chest at 7.30am in the demand for brekkie!! @Sister always the way hubby was back to sleep snoring and rustling around from nightmares in a second  :(

@Kiwi Angel My cat (long gone now) used to sit on my chest in the morning and do that stare. When I didn't respond, she would tap my chin with a gentle paw. When that didn't work, she would lick my eyelids. No way can you not respond to that!

@Flaneuse I will often get a wet nose to the eyelid if I don’t comply quickly enough  :pensive:
