Night Howls

I understand how people get addicted to sleeping tablets if it means a better nights sleep.2

Ah yes @kiwiangel My GP keeps me on a very short leash with the sleepers, but they are a godsend when I get to the point of being ragged and seem to help reset me if I take them for two or three nights in a row. A pack of twenty lasts me months, but I treasure them,1

When I see my oncologist in November I might see if she will let me have some more. I’ll probably use them when I’m really struggling too @Zoffiel0

Ugh! Thought I'd spoil the family and do pears in maple syrup in the slow cooker tonight for dessert. I knew that it was likely that we didn't have any syrup at home and would need to buy some. Between picking out the pears and leaving the fruit and veg aisle, I forgot. Who am I, again?..1

Hey @Kiwi Angel,
The sleep easy was a waste of time and $15. My hubby is a serious insomniac, always has been, uses restavit. I tried them once but they made me dopey in the morning (mind you I did take it at 3.30am) You can get them from the pharmacy. (They will keep an eye on you though) He says they work quite well.
@Sister I hear you.

This week I saw my GP for the first time in over three months. Amongst other things we tackled my sleep problems. I'm taking two Temazepam for four nights in a row, to get some catch-up sleep under my belt and then I'm going to try melatonin to try to reset my sleep. If I find the melatonin works on me (my GP said it doesn't work on everyone) I use it for three months. Maybe by then the hot flushes will have settled down a bit. One can only hope.
I saw my psychologist on Monday. She said that if I find it's worrying as I'm trying to go to sleep, that's keeping me awake, then I should set aside a defined time during the day to do my worrying. And to write it down, keep a 'worry journal'. This isn't actually too much of a problem for me. I have the odd night where the cancer highlights reel won't stop playing (as you know because I jump on here for a howl!) but mostly it's the constant waking through the night that's the problem.
I'm so run down I've had a headache for most of the week and most unusually, have developed a cold sore. Can't remember the last time I had one of those nasty little suckers...
I've done two nights on the Temaz and it's definitely helped. I'm looking forward to the next two because I can sleep in. Good luck with your Zs tonight Howlers! . Kate xox3 -
@kmakm so good to hear your plan. Looks like a good one to me! I love the idea of a worry time and journal. I might slot that idea away for the future and pull that out when needed. Hoping the melatonin works its wonders on you. Sweet dreams Kate. x
Had a couple of dodgy nights, so I will be on the melatonin tonight.1
