I am so jealous @SoldierCrab - I love Darwin (although I haven't seen it this century!) and it's so bloody cold here.

Enjoy Tassie @Kiwi Angel and stay warm.

    I'm doing my usual pre-chemo can't sleep.  I've been awake since 2:30am.

I can see that I'm not the only one awake now - @AllyJay and @Eastmum.  Is it freezing where you are?  I'm sure that the cold is making my neuropathy worse even though it's only just started.

Safe travels @SoldierCrab and @Kiwi Angel!

@Sister - I’m still tucked under the doona and haven’t looked at the weather forecast but it’s been raining so I guessing it’s pretty chill out there. Is this number 9 for you? That’s a bit of a milestone!

Yes - the magic number but I'm not sure if the onc will let me go ahead today.  He did say that I may have to have a week's break if symptoms weren't looking good.  I don't know how bad the neuropathy has to be before that happens.  The funny thing is that the other side effects haven't been as bad this week.

I’m crossing my fingers and toes for you that you’ll be able to go ahead. It’s funny what we wish for but I’m sure that you’d rather power on and get that magic 9 done and dusted rather than put if off for a week if possible. Still, if it will ease the neuropathy and make it less likely to cause permanent damage then it will definitely be a good thing to wait. Either way - this too will end! Let us know how you go. Xxxx

@Sister - thanks. It has been pretty cold in Sydney the last couple of weeks to prepare us for Tassie.

Hi there @Sister ,,,yes  awake  through the  wee  hours  again. As  soon as the glowing  numbers  on the clock  say 5.00 I  feel I can legitimately  leave my torture rack (also  known as  a bed). I too suffer  from  severe  peripheral neuropathy  as well as I have scleroderma which causes severe Reynaud's syndrome in my hands  as well as feet. The cold is a nightmare as it  sets  off the Reynaud's which in turn is excruciatingly  painful because  of  the nerve damage. I sleep with knitted gloves to help with the  hands and use a heat bag at my feet. Nuke for three minutes  in the microwave, and it stays warm for hours in the bed. For me the  problem is keeping my hands and feet warm, without warming the rest of me too much or the  night sweats leave me drenched, but that's another story.

@kmakm thanks. Hopefully we leave the airport soon - delayed 3 hours so far in Sydney due to heavy fog in Launceston. That’s 3 wineries I have missed out on!!  :D
