Gin. Hmmmm. Probably lucky I don't have any,. I'm already breaking my 'no devices before dawn' rule. I could easily go a couple of nips of Bombay Sapphire right now, it might put me off into the land of Nod and I could deal with the guilt later.

Hot flushed out of bed to the loo and now awake when I should be sleeping in, grrr. I have joint ache in parts of body too long to list so I've taken painkillers.

Ah gin! I tried the Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla last night. Made with bittersweet Seville oranges. SO delicious.

That sounds wonderful, @kmakm.  I'm a big fan of chinotto and love the bittersweet flavour.

@Kiwi Angel    Ah - gin before dawn. Now there's an idea. We're told one should keep trying new things ... ? I've been a Bombay Sapphire girl for years, but my new favourites (gifts from my daughter and her best friend) are both Tasmanian: "Ink" and "Forty Spotted" - hard to decide between the two. Both magnificent. But BS is still the more affordable.

Sounds like your joints are in tune with mine, @kmakm. Yesterday my joints ached from dawn onwards and found sore spots (even in muscle and tissue under my unoperated arm and sore swelling in the area that got most hits from cannulation during chemo). I took Panadol Osteo three times during the day. Feeling weak too. By 8 pm I needed something stronger and took my last Endone. It didn't help. I went to bed with hot sweats and had an awful night. Don't know what time I slept but was continually woken again by aches.

Set the alarm for 8 am because I'm going out for brunch with a friend visiting Brisbane from interstate. She'll talk about herself the whole time, about the same issues she's had for decades, and I'll listen and make empathetic noises. The best thing is I've suggested a local garden centre cafe so we can stroll among some lovely plants - even though I've even given up caring about my own small garden and don't even keep up the watering correctly these days. Ah well.

@Flaneuse I have a friend like that. I love her but her self-involvement means sometimes I get very frustrated with her. She can be very generous and great fun, but boy, can she talk about herself...

@Flaneuse I spent a couple of hours last weekend, doing some major weeding in one of my garden beds - it looked like lawn rather than garden .I bought some plants on the way home from last rads on Wednesday but they're still sitting on the verandah!  At least you've had lots of practice making the right sort of noises for your friend!

@Flaneuse love the Tassie gins!  Had a bottle of forty spotted from our last trip there and just finished my bottle of quintessence which was so good. They are all at least $70 a bottle though. @Zoffiel hope u got back to sleep without the booze  ;)

Well - the past half hour has changed my plans. Got dressed. Suddenly feeling dizzy and nauseous. Took a Pramin. Then threw up four times. Must have caught a bug. Mint tea now. Texted friend to come here instead of garden centre cafe.
