Can't sleep, can't sleep. It's very windy here, which I really don't like. The gumtrees are thrashing about making a lot of noise. I'm hot flushing every half an hour so the doona is flapping off and on, yet my feet and nose remain stubbornly cold. Anybody out there?

@kmakm hope u managed to get some sleep. I worked up a sweat yesterday doing the vacuuming and then got hit by a hot flush - just about threw up!! I’m hoping the medication doesn’t make them worse. My boss has been through menopause but it was the cruiseiest ever and I was trying to explain what the flushes feel like - couldn’t do it.0

Another night with little to no zzzzzz's .
The God of sleep has decided I should be punished for the 3 great nights I had earlier in the week !!
Last night got into bed after coming home from the footy , doona snuglgled around me ,hot cup of tea, dozed off looking at the iPad , put it down turned over ,almost asleep & bang Cramp in my feet !!!
ugh .... Get up , massage feet , back to bed , doze off & REPEAT!!
This went on & on & on ...........
back in bed now trying to rest , can still feel cramps threatening !!
Of course the snoring hubby was oblivious ! Annoying !

Ah @tigerbeth I feel your pain! Shocking night for me last night - awake at 3:30am! Snoring hubby had already moved to travelling daughter's bed so I turned to SBS on Demand and watched 3 episodes of Black Widows - awesome Nordic Noir Drama about three women who blow up their husbands (LOL) - before I dozed off again at 6:30am - and yep, it's a work day today!
My first day of Taxol tomorrow - have been told to pre-med with 8mg dex tonight - hope that means I can still get some sleep! @Kiwi Angel - I'll take heart from your experience with dex and night0 -
@tigerbeth Bloody awful! I hope last night was better. Kate0

@kmakm - thanks Kate - it's only 8mg for a short time. Apparently there is the chance of an allergic reaction from taxol so my onc has a pre-med schedule to minimise that. For the first taxol it's 8mg dex the night before then two hours before infusion another 8mg dex + 10mg claratyne + 150mg ranitidine. Week 2 it's 8mg dex the night before but only the antihistamines two hours before; week 3 it's down to 4mg dex the night before + the antihistamines on the day - week 4 it all stops! At least there's a second season of Black Widows!
