@kmakm. I would be telling her everything they is going in with u. It’s her job to make sure u are comfortable and allay any concerns u might have. I had my first post chemo meeting with my oncologist earlier this week and she was very supportive and wanted to know everything that was going on with me and provided additional medication to make me more comfortable. U should definitely feel like she is in your corner - it’s a major, life changing experience that u are going through. Xoxox

Definitely talk about changed symptoms! You can change doctors if not happy though I know this is hard! Good luck with talking about your concerns. Do you find a list helpful and another person with you?

Sister -hope the melatonin helps -some people find the pills less helpful. Have you got troches from a compounding chemist?

@MoiraC I am a list person from way back! I keep a running one on my phone for my doctors. Whenever I think of one it gets jotted down. Changing oncologists has crossed my mind.

@Sister-not sure. The troche I take is inserted in my mouth up near back teeth and gradually melts so maybe same or better!

Hmmmm - I've had 3 half decent sleeps in a row ..... averaging 5-8hrs, so happy with that!!

The only thing I've changed is the red wine that I have most nights!!  I've usually been having Cab Merlots - and then, on price, I changed to Stanley Dolce Rosso (chateau cardboard!!)  (A fairly sweet red wine that initially I didn't really like - but I stuck with it!)

So it has REALLY surprised me that I've been sleeping so well since changing to it!  I have 2 or 3 glasses with dinner & after .... and it seems to do the trick!  :)

If you are into having a vino or two .... give it a go!!  ;)

Glad to hear that you're sleeping @arpie.  I've only had a couple of wines since Christmas and not really fancying it at the moment with the chemo taste and tummy.

@arpie Congrats Arpie on the improved sleep! I'm like @Sister, wine still tastes absolute rubbish to me. My tastebuds are not yet back to normal. I was drinking too much in the two years before my diagnosis, to cope with stress, so it's probably a good thing wine tastes like something you'd find in a budgerigar's cage!

@Sister   @kmakm    So sorry to hear the chemo makes the vino taste bad - my husband said the chemo made everything taste metallic back when he was on it in 2010 .....  it will be interesting to see if the  lasts!!

All the best to all those still struggling to sleep ..... it sucks!!  :(    It may be me again, soon!   :/

Okay, ladies.  Not definitive because it could have just been sheer exhaustion... Second night of Melatonin.  I kept falling asleep on the couch while I was waiting until I should go to bed after taking it so eventually gave in around 10pm.  I woke up hot around 1ish and went to the loo.  Went back to bed and back to sleep until about 3:30 - that time I was cold so covered up.  Woke up again around 4am but too lazy to get up - did so around 5am as I was getting uncomfortable.

@Sister Can you take it later and head to bed the moment you feel sleepy?

Not sure - you're supposed to take it about an hour before bed.  Don't know why.
