An Ipswich grandmother left with debilitating pain after radiation for her breast cancer treatment has revealed the unconventional way she finally found relief - without costing her a cent. Some (not all) clinics are covered by Medicare.

Obviously, this needs to be cleared by your GP before considering to start it ...

She used hyperbaric oxygen treatment, with a leading Queensland clinic now lobbying for the therapy to become available to more patients, through Medicare.
It supplies extra oxygen to the body, (similar to treatment for 'the bends') that aids in healing injuries, wounds and infections.
It has been used by elite athletes for many years - and even on race horses & other animals.

Interesting. Though sure about the side effects they list seem a bit scary1

@arpie, my support group at the Wesley was supposed to have a talk on this at one stage and its use with cancer support but it was to be rescheduled to this year some time. So the session will be very interesting.
My husband was in a trial for side effects from his cancer in his neck. It went every day for 1 hr for 6 weeks. The aim was to improve his saliva gland function which was comprised from his radium treatment.
He had no side effects and things improved a bit for him. That's awhile ago now so I am sure the use and treatments have improved.
Thanks for sharing1 -
Wow, great to hear that it helped your hubby a bit, @Cath62 ..... I look forward to hearing about the discussion your support group will have later on!
I have a friend who's had major neck cancer surgery twice last year & his saliva glands have been badly impacted. Sadly, he had to have some of his jaw removed before Xmas too ... but was home by Xmas, recuperating - so have sent info to him too, about possibly asking about it. xx It would be worth a try, if it may assist with his healing.
