Delightful evening so far - every shit side effect in full force including the stomach cramps but no movement i love that one   Hubby losing his shit at the kids over everything I swear they breathe wrong, now he’s lost his shit at me because I told him to back off.

Decided i I need to do something about the lack of sleep (about 8 in the last 48) all in little naps so have organised a sleeping tablet but now I’m panicking that I’ll be dopey tomorrow

    does this shit ever end

Hi there @Sarnicad ...sometimes you feel like you're pissing up a waterfall...much effort with little or f***all result. Nevermind, in my household, much excrement was misplace by all and sundry at various points in my wonderful "journey" Shit, how I hate that saying. For me, journeys bring to mind places like the Gobi desert. or the Amazon forest, and involve yaks or anacondas or somesuch. And a "kit" for this aforementioned "journey" contains items such as miniature compasses, space blankets, water purifying tablets and the like. However, be that as it may, this too will pass, as will your own shit, which I gather has just so far grumbled, but has not yet made an appearance. Take the pill, you need the sleep, and if you're missing in action early in the am, the rest of your pack will survive. If you don't look after you, you can't look after them Hugs...

@Sarnicad Get thee to a pharmacy and purchase a tub of Osmolax. You will not regret it. I'm still using it as the AI has me almost as constipated as chemo...

What sleeping pill are you taking? When I have one it's Temazepam and it rarely makes me dopey in the morning. Only if I've left it too late to take. I had shocking insomnia during chemo. @AllyJay is right. If you are too sleepy to make a useful contribution tomorrow morning, your tribe will manage. You come first right now. K xox

@AllyJay I never use that wretched J word about having breast cancer.

I agree - I refuse to use that word for bc.

@sarnicad - They will survive but it's hard to sit back and let them all fight it out and harder when it's the adult that needs pulling into line.

So sleeping tablet next to useless. I’ve dozed but feel probably could have taken a kwells and got the same result. Very dry mouthed this morning.

I have the constipation cure ready to go but it is actually stomach cramps from going too much that are causing problems. Also feel I’m probably not eating quite enough but if every time you eat your gut goes off there is no real incentive.

Hubby is concerned for me but just hasn’t worked out him yelling at the kids and me having to referee makes me more stressed. And yes they are all being shit heads. House looks like a bomb site which when you are stuck in it all day does your head in and I can’t work out what needs to happen for it to get fixed. Which is frustrating cause normally that is not a problem.

Oh oh well let’s see what today brings

    Morning All

@Sarnicad I use temazepam once a week (melatonin the rest of the week) and I find it gives me a good sleep and I feel great the next day. The stomach cramps with constipation are the worst. U need to go and it is so painful but u can’t. Luckily I got away pretty easy during chemo with that not happening very often and unlike @kmakm my hormon tablet isn’t affecting things in that department at all.

@AllyJay @kmakm I’m not a fan of that journey word at all - like you Ally it brings to mind holiday and adventures, not surgeries, chemo and hot flushes.

As an aside, my shrink told me yesterday if my hot flushes annoy me too much at night I can talk to my oncologist and there is a certain type of low dose antidepressant that can help with them. I only get about 1 crappy one a night but good to keep up my sleeve - has anyone else heard of/tried this??

When all else fails, write them a list of things that you expect to be done with a timeframe for doing them - and then remove yourself from the scene and leave it to them to do.  I can't remember how old your kids are @sarnicad but it's amazing what they are able to do by themselves (and if it's not perfect, too bad).

Yes @Kiwi Angel, it's desvenlafaxine (Pristiq), which I'm on. My hot flushes could be worse without them, or maybe it doesn't work for me. I'm taking it for depression and it's certainly helping on that front. The other things to try include an old medication for epilepsy, and one for blood pressure. Weird eh?! K xox
