@Stork I am mad for India and have been seven times! Three of those trips have been escorting small groups on trips that a friend and I have designed ourselves. I've been to Varanasi, and to Rajasthan amongst many places, the latter every trip but one as we have friends there.

Don't worry about the food. There's lots there that you don't get here, not everything is spicy hot, and you can find familiar food pretty much everywhere.

I really enjoyed that tv show, good fun.

If you want any help or advice, don't hesitate to PM me. India is my passion! Kate xox

@Annie Clove Kolkata! I've only been once, can't wait to get back. How fabulous that you lived there for a year! I think you and I need to have a curry and a big chinwag next month when you're in town!

@Stork Take Indian rupees but don't worry if you can't find any here. There are ATMs everywhere there. Load up your credit card and withdraw as needed. There are some restrictions as to the amount of cash you can take in so check the limit.

Medical matters... see your GP to make sure you have all the right shots. I take Travelan before meals if I'm a bit suss on the kitchen. That binds 70% of gastro bugs to it and carries them harmlessly through you. Handy!

I would LOVE to go to Iran and Uzbekistan! How marvellous that you have.

To PM you tap on the burger menu at the top right of the screen. Tap on Inbox and you can send private messages from there. K xox

LPG was 95.5 cents per litre in Narrandera. WTF?  Much mental arithmetic to try to figure out if it was more economical to buy petrol at $1.65--the answer is no though the percentages are marginal. I'm minding the ancestral farm for a couple of days. A shower would be nice and I'd forgotten about filling a bucket of water for the loo...Maybe things will thaw out by lunch time. I'd forgotten how cold it gets here

    I LOVE driving @Zoffiel  - I could go for 10hrs 'back when' .... these days, happy with 300k a day!  ;)

Oh dear  - the old bucket for the loo - I'd forgotten about that  .... it was (probably still is) standard for my buddies out Merrygoen way .... this year has been the worst for drought in the 80 year history of the farm in the family.  :(

They have recently sold to their neighbour & in the process of moving to Bulladelah - which will be great, as she is my oldest & best school friend ... and Bulladelah is only 3/4hr away!  :)

Bloody cold here the last couple of days!!!  Crisp AS!  Take care & safe travels xx

Would love a shot of the view from the ancestral home @Zoffiel. A spot of armchair travel to see me through a day of back-to-school prep. Featuring four kids whingeing about not wanting to go to school and me saying it's the law... Grey and cold in Melbourne today, top of 12°. Currently sucking back a short macchiato to wake me up after a late night of Tour de France watching. Waiting for Boy12 to finish a music lesson...

Love the Tour too @kmakm! Can't believe Richie Porte is out! If I was into conspiracy theories......  :# don't know who to follow now. I've used the dark chocolate coated coffee beans to get me through today.  :). I love driving too @arpie.  Snacks on the seat, music going, the open road ahead. But too cold down south for me. It's been chilly enough here in Qld the last few days.  :)
