For all of my initial specialist visits and tests we have had to pay for parking. The Epworth Richmond provide free parking vouchers while having Chemotherapy treatment at their day unit which is great

No parking fees for chemo / Herceptin (Gosford Private), but believe they now have paid parking. No parking fees for radiation treatment as there is a free car park nearby but steep fees at Prince of Wales hospital (Randwick, Sydney) where I had my surgeries e.g 2hrs: $18.40 and all day: $28.

The chemo unit gave discounted parking tickets of $10 but I opted to park in nearby streets and walk.  Although not very well throughout chemo treatment, it was an enforced walk and all the exercise I managed.  I try and park offsite for all appointments now to get in a little incidental exercise.  Parking everyday for radiation treatment would have cost a packet!  I was lucky enough to be able to walk to my car.

I realised I should of added that I changed from Nepean for Chemo to Bathurst where there is no parking costs. Radiation was in Orange Base Hospital and we have Community Bus -   trip at $5 per return trip each day x 6 weeks  but it meant I didnt have to drive 55mins each way myself on icy roads in winter.

We paid for parking to see my chemotherapy oncologist and most medical tests and surgery.  There was free parking at the hospital for radiation but a bit of a long walk when you are tired from treatment.  Parking was hard to find for my chemotherapy at a private hospital but I think it was free.  Parking to see surgeon also free.

For the majority of my parking for appointments I was able to fit within the 2 hour free limit at public hospitals... however there were days where I had multiple appointments that this was not the case.

parking was very much an issue for my husband when visiting everyday after surgeries, as I had 10 this became quite costly... as we live an hour away from the hospital he tended to stay all day as it was such a distance to travel.

I had to pay for parking for everything except radiation, they had free parking in special spots in the carpark across the road.  I qualify for community transport now (2 years later) and for $15 each way I get picked up at home and dropped at the transit centre of the hospital, then picked up again from the transit centre when I am done and dropped home. So I don't need parking anymore :)

Never once had to pay for parking in the ACT for any of my visits to surgeon, oncologists, imaging centre for scans, specialist for heart echos, chemo or radiation. Only time we ever paid for parking was when I was admitted to private hospital for my surgery and hubby visited me.

I did Chemo at Freemasons in East Melbourne its Private and I received a discount for parking only, so there was quite a bit of out of pocket. Cheers, Melinda xo

I had my chemo and radiation at Westmead Public at the Princess Mary Cancer Center. They give you a laminated parking sign for you to put on your dash while you're having therapy. You give a $20 deposit and get that back when you've finished therapy. However it only works in the designated patients car park just outside the cancer centre. There might be about 20 car parks there, so I got there early to sit and wait for a car park to be free. Most times I got a car park. On days when I didn't have much time and there were no parks I'd have to park in the public car park.

We pay around $10 for parking at Gosford private for chemo. Gosford Public have vouchers. I wonder why I have been paying for private cover all these years. But $10 seems reasonable compared to others.
