I'm into thread painting, using DMC, Au ver a Soie (silk) or any thread that catches my eye for what I'm working on. Every two years I go across to Adelaide for Beating round the Bush embroidery convention which is a weeks worth of embroidery classes. It's like being a pig in mud there I have so much fun and learn heaps. This is what I'm working on currently. Jem was our cavalier King Charles for 11 years until he died of mitral valve disease this year.
I still miss him heaps but Rufus is very cute and keeps me laughing with all his playfulness. My first surgery is next week so doing this helps to keep me calm.12 -

Thanks all, I'm pleased with it as well cos it really looks like him. Photoshop is wonderful to use, particularly when you have a daughter who knows how to use it, as you can see where the main shading parts are... for the rest you have to feel your way using the original photo. Choosing all the shades was the difficult and time consuming bit! Just need to find more time to work on it...maybe after surgery this week. Check out Trish Burr or Emilie Ferrison the net, their work is truly stunning. I had a class with Trish in Adelaide, funniest lady ever, lives in South Africa.3

I am finally getting back into the swing of LIFE. I have a job trial tomorrow and school is going okay (not well but okay).
I made this zen jungle, this time it's a search and find, there are 30 bunnies!
and the hospital right now have these daffodils going up all over the walls! I'm going to go in and get in on the action.

Greetings creative gals. I just stumbled on this thread - thrilled to find it. It's a joy to look at all your creative work. Thank you for establishing the group @InkPetal ... & I love your work!
I'm a vegetarian leatherworker (yep, I'm a strange one) ... anyone else out there work with leather?
Since my metastatic cancer diagnosis I've not been able to spend as much time as I'd like in my workshop- due to hip & back pain - but I am getting back to it and am sure I'll find inspiration here.
Below is a turquoise pig skin lined goat skin glasses case I made for my partner just before I was diagnosed. The inspiration was a river oak I drew at a weekend water colour painting workshop I participated in at King Studio, Maclean early this year.
