Re: Bladder urgency with Arimidex/Anastrozole
@arpie, that is exactly what happens to me. When I need to wee it is immediately or I pee myself. My oncologist told me what happens is our urethra dries out in menopause and is a lot shorter then mens. It irritates the bladder. What annoys me most is I like to go walking for exercise but don't get far before needing to wee. A shortage of toilets along the way is a problem lol. My oncologist put me on ditropan to take three times a day. It helps relax the bladder but it makes me so tired and shocking dry mouth. I cut them down to one at night which isn't really working great. They also help with hot flushes which is good as I wasn't having any and now they are back. You win one way but lose another.24Views1like0CommentsRe: Bladder urgency with Arimidex/Anastrozole
Hi @arpie, I have experienced this now quite badly for the last 18months or so. I have been on arimadex since December 2017. I'm also on zoladex injections since I was not menopausal at diagnosis. I am 46 and feel like old lady with this problem. I cannot hold it or I pee myself and can't stop. At night I have to wear heavy duty pads as I often wake up and have wet myself. I never had any issues before all this shit. My oncologist said it is from being put into menopause. I hate this shit so much lol. X20Views1like0CommentsRe: Happy Birthday @LMK74 for 23 March!
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I have not celebrated it at all. I'm choosing to be a hermit due the events unfolding with covid-19. I feel too scared to leave my house unless absolutely necessary. To all my fellow friends here, I hope we all stay safe and well and be kind to each other. My thoughts are with all of you currently going through active treatment in such difficult circumstances and uncertainty. Love to all Lisa x4Views1like0CommentsRe: Tattooing over mastectomy scar
@Blossom1961, good on you. I'm glad you found someone to do it. Especially after the rudeness of the first one not showing up. I still would like to get one but deciding on something I want permanently there is hard. The healing phase is quite annoying when it starts to itch too. :).57Views0likes0CommentsRe: First time I have cried
Yep I get it. Ditto anxiety. Have also battled with it most of my life. At times to the point of not leaving my house for days. It totally sucks. I promise it will get better as you settle into a routine and know what to expect. I hope your first chemo wasn't to bad.4Views1like0CommentsRe: First time I have cried
You're welcome and you can have all the hugs here from everyone. I'm single and live with my schizophrenia brother who was not much help. I understand feeling so scared and wondering what side effects you will get. After my first chemo I went home and was petrified I wouldn't wake up the next morning. Usually how the first chemo goes is how they will follow. Tell your team right away if meds are not working as they can be tweaked and changed. One day at a time lovely.6Views3likes0CommentsRe: Tamoxifen sweats! How do you manage your smell?!
Hi ladies, I have been taking oxybutynin/ditropan for 5mg twice a day for around 9 months. I'm on it for OAB/overactive bladder thanks to arimadex and zoladex and being forced into menopause. It does help with hot flushes but there is a down side for me at least. I'm chronically fatigued all the time, my brain is like fog to the point I can't think straight. Severe dry mouth. Told my oncologist this and she said it's not that. I disagree as if you read user reviews of this drug it's a common side effect. Obviously everyone reacts different but I took myself of it for a week and guess what? Some of that foginess lifted as did some of the tiredness and dry mouth. If I don't take it I piss myself and wake up in the night wet. I hate what breast cancer has given. At 45 I feel like an old lady. I'd be interested to know how anyone else taking oxybutynin feels since on it. Cheers Lisa34Views0likes0Comments
