Who else can't sleep?
Sitting here at 4:15am (CST) after trying since 2:30am to go back to sleep and finally giving up, yet again... Wondering who else is out there this morning, and most mornings at this time?

- Blahh!! Horrid steroids. Awake since 1ish....trid to go back to sleep.......got up at 2:10......now 3. At least I don'd have to be anywhere or do anything later today. Sleep on the couch and watch crap TV :)
- It is important to normal, isn't it? I've decided that I'm going to make that a verb and from now on make attempts at normalling. I've been trying to put together a strategy for well-being to deal with this vortex of bc that I've been sucked into and normalling parts of my life is going to be part of it. I hope your grandchildren were lots of fun and you sent them home on a sugar high! (My kids always thought that they were getting away with murder at grandma's and grandpa's and that I would be cross about the amount of junk they at there but what happens at grandma's, stays at grandma's.)

I agree with your comment about doing something normal. My NORMAL was having our youngest Grandchildren on a Wednesday. Couldn't do it the week after my A/C but by the second and third week I felt well enough to have them. There other Nanna was able to step in for us on the week I couldn't do it. Was much easier on Taxol. I had it on a Thursday weekly so by the following Wednesday was OK. It kept me sain.

- @Sister, glad you had a good time. Palliative care at home is tough absolutely. I did it for my mum who was dying of lung cancer and it was the toughest thing I have ever had to see or do. It killed me inside watching her and waiting for the inevitable. I would not have had it any other way, we all wanted her to be at home surrounded by love and familiar surroundings. Stress is unbelievable so hope your family is coping as best they can.

- You're right @zoffiel I know the euphoria will be overtaken by the nitty gritty of life but I do feel a different person than the one who was online yesterday morning. I feel like I have some of my positivity back.
- And, @kmakm The way I feel after yesterday afternoon (and how it felt during), I think it's absolutely essential to think of something restorative to do. I knew that I was yearning to go to the beach so that bit was easy for me and one of the things we've almost always done with a late beach day is fish and chips in view of the ocean (because we almost never eat out and we live so far from the beach), so that came as part of the package. The gift my kids gave to me was recognising the importance of it to me when I said how much I wanted to go and actively choosing to be part of it (never a guarantee with teens and tweens) and helping make it so good. It was important to me too that it be our family enjoying ourselves, and each other, doing something from our normal.
So, put that thinking cap on and come up with something that is pure pleasure and relaxation for you - and fun!
