Operation went well, woke up and no drains which was a relief. Yesterday went by in a daze and came home today. Scar is tender but no massive pain and feeling fine. Next appointment is in 2 weeks when I will find out pathology results so fingers crossed!!!

Just saw your blog so am guessing you have had your op - hope it all went well and that you aren't feeling too bad.  I had my pathology results within a few days. It is such a whirlwind of tests and treatment and before you know it you'll be out the other side.  We have come a long way and know so much more now about this horrible disease.  Don't be afraid to ask questions, post often, and take time for you - even it's only 5 minutes a day. Make sure you ask for help.  Keep smiling.  Big hugs

Welcome to the club but so sorry you've had to join us. Take one step at a time. It cliche but it's the only way to go. It's too scary and intense to do it any other way. I had my lumpectomy on 13/1. And got my full paths in a week.  I had a drain in because my nodes came back positive, but was only in hospital for the two days..I got my drain out today! Yay! .. . The help and support is amazing, and if it makes any sense I feel 'safe'... Ask millions of questions, write everything down ( do you have your my journey kit yet?) It sure is a whirlwind and a roller coaster of emotions! But you will get through it!

All the very best wishes and prayers for you , the op itself was something I had envisaged as dreadful and it really wasn't as bad as my mind had led me to believe , trust in your surgeon, insist every path test know to man get tested on you removed bits , and try and relax waiting for results to come thru , I found that the hardest , you are in good hands , everyone is acting swiftly and that's what you need , do some nice things for YOU in the meantime , spoil yourself , you DESERVEB it , will keep you in my thoughts and prayers . ??????????????

Thanks for all the advice ladies. Trying to take deep breaths and stay calm.  At least everything has gone quickly , it's better than sitting around waiting !!

how sad that you have even more to deal with after your husbands stroke. Life really is not fair. Being diagnosed with bc is scary, kind of feels like someone has hijacked your life, but there is so much help & support out there. Surgery is the first hurdle you face, trust the doctors & nurses to take good care of you. If there's something you need, ask for it. Be prepared, it usually takes two weeks to get full pathology results after your op. Can be a bit harrowing to wait but gives you time to regain strength. I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. Many women experience feelings of shock hearing the news that they have breast cancer. I walked around for about a month just shaking my head in disbelief and each morning woke up thinking it was all just a bad bad dream. I too was fearful of the surgery (as I think we all were/are) but to be honest it wasn't as bad as I expected. I had a very distinct moment before walking into the hospital where I thought ' just get back in the car, drive to the airport and catch the first flight overseas' and just pretend this never happened. How crazy is that !!!!!

 I hope that your family and friends surround you with love and support and assist with caring for your husband. Take care, breath deeply and be kind to yourself.
