Starting Radiation

Hi All, Tomorrow I will starting  my first of 15 rounds of Radiation. What recommendations for creams post treatmen for skin burn. I was given samples of QV cream and LaRoche-Posay Lipikar baume and Cicaplast Baume B5. I already have Dermaveen and Sorbolene Cream at home.

Thanks All

  • I've just completed day 2 of 5 treatments on half my R breast and am using Strata XRT. Too early to tell if it's magic yet. It does take a bit of practice to spread it with 1 finger in a feathering movement and to use very little. I've been having the precious stuff drop off my finger if I load too much at once.

  • I also had 15 sessions and used Strata XRT - found it annoying to put on but had zero radiation issues, just pink skin (not even sore) and fatigue (which also may have been the 4 hour return trip I had to do each day).

best of luck to you x

I had 28 sessions of radiation therapy so much more intense.

I used strata xrt that I had to pay for and send away for  so  my be too late for you to get that.

If your skin starts getting pink show it to the nurses/ technicians and they will b able to give you something for it.

  • I used sorbolene, I used it straight after treatment and each morning and evening, more if I thought I needed it. I had a bit of a pink blush at the end of 15 rounds, and a small area of itchiness. I'm still using sorbolene every day 18 months later, although my skin was pretty much back to normal after about 6 weeks.
