I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. Many women experience feelings of shock hearing the news that they have breast cancer. I walked around for about a month just shaking my head in disbelief and each morning woke up thinking it was all just a bad bad dream. I too was fearful of the surgery (as I think we all were/are) but to be honest it wasn't as bad as I expected. I had a very distinct moment before walking into the hospital where I thought ' just get back in the car, drive to the airport and catch the first flight overseas' and just pretend this never happened. How crazy is that !!!!!
I hope that your family and friends surround you with love and support and assist with caring for your husband. Take care, breath deeply and be kind to yourself.
