Hopefully this link works. It is a beautiful song written by a horse trainers niece. However, it totally applies to opening your heart and having empathy and understanding.5 -
and if you are having a really really bad time of it just now ..... just go back to my favourite saying ..... the one in the middle is particularly effective when something goes wrong unexpectedly - no matter the situation!

Apologies and I do not want to cause offence - as this is not the uplifting tone of most of the inspirational material here - but it made me laugh!! I think nearly all of us develop coping mechanisms (although some may be quite healthy and probably sanity inducing!) and personally I am all for a bit of dark humour.

Afraser no need to apologise we all definitely learn unhealthy and healthy coping strategies going through this bloody roller coaster ride.....
Dark humour can often help us cope with the un nice things we endure through this ride.

Oh indeed...My beloved brother died at the South African National Skydiving Championships many years ago. My mother wanted Amazing Grace played at his funeral and wanted lillies or somesuch on his coffin. My sister-in-law and myself agreed that he would be spinning like a top in his box if we did that, so we placed his rig (parachute) over his coffin and played Queens Another One Bites the Dust. All his mates (about 600 of them present) as well as his four children agreed that he would be having a good chuckle at that. After the ceremony, his parachute that was draped over his coffin was ceremoniously folded by his other three team mates (he was in a four way when he bounced...sorry another skydving terminology commonly used by other meatbombs (yet another...we all know the realities of major f**kups), whilst Elton John's Don't let the Sun Go Down On Me was played. The packed rig was then presented to his widow.
